The current position available is for a part-time Food and Beverage (F&B) Server Assistant located in Port St. Lucie, Florida. This role involves maintaining an organized dining room to ensure smooth flow, cleanliness, and an excellent appearance. The Server Assistant will be responsible for positively and professionally attending to the dining room, banquet areas, and clubhouse patrons, representing the PGA of America with the utmost professionalism. This position plays a vital supporting role by assisting à la carte service staff and banquet events to deliver quality customer service. Responsibilities include anticipating guest needs, ensuring guests are never left unattended, and assisting servers with various duties such as running food, pre-bussing, water service, table maintenance, and coffee service.

The Server Assistant will also prepare and maintain the dining area by setting up and breaking down tables and chairs, clearing and cleaning tables, removing dirty dishes to the kitchen, and restocking tables and service areas. Maintaining side stations with essential wares, condiments, and polished silverware is key to delivering the exceptional service the PGA Golf Properties strives for. Additionally, the candidate will greet and seat guests promptly, knowledgeably handle menus and seating charts, attend daily pre-shift meetings, and follow daily task checklists. The job requires frequent standing, walking, and lifting up to 25 pounds.

This role does not include supervisory duties but demands excellent collaboration skills, the ability to handle various concrete variables in a dynamic environment, and strong communication skills to ensure guest satisfaction. Job Requirements

  • valid Food Handlers Certificate
  • possession of Restaurant Compliance Solutions (RCS) certification
  • less than high school education
  • up to one-month related experience or training or equivalent combination of education and training
  • ability to use iPad with POS seating system
  • ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and correspondence
  • ability to write simple sentences
  • ability to solve practical problems and interpret various instructions
  • frequent standing and walking
  • ability to lift up to 25 pounds
  • ability to work flexible hours including days, nights, and weekends

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • assist the à la carte service staff and banquet events throughout the dining experience
  • provide quality customer service and anticipate guests' needs throughout the dining experience
  • assist servers in running food, pre-bussing, water service, table maintenance, and coffee service
  • set up, break down, clear, and clean dining room tables and chairs
  • remove dirty dishes and glassware and take them to the kitchen/dish pit
  • reset and restock tables and service areas
  • keep side stations filled and ensure all small wares, condiments are restocked and silverware is polished and rolled
  • seat guests and run food as needed according to seating charts
  • attend pre-shift meetings
  • follow a checklist for daily tasks
  • greet and seat new guests and offer water
  • be knowledgeable of menus, specials, seating charts, and venues
