The Resort at Paws Up is currently seeking a dedicated Server Assistant to join their esteemed team. This role starts at $18 per hour, with potential increases based on experience, and offers an opportunity to contribute to the exceptional dining experience that the resort is known for. As a Server Assistant, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in greeting, guiding, and delivering world-class service to guests. Responsibilities will include assisting with the clearing and resetting of tables, beverage service, running food, and performing various side tasks that support the smooth operation of the dining experience. The Server Assistant will need to be knowledgeable about the menu, including food preparation, ingredients, allergens, and special dietary considerations, enhancing the guests’ confidence and satisfaction.

Attention to detail, professionalism, and a passion for hospitality are critical traits for this position, as the Server Assistant must anticipate guest needs, be unobtrusive while maintaining a presence on the dining floor, and ensure that all presentation and sanitation standards are met to the highest degree. This role requires excellent communication skills to effectively interact with guests, management, and team members to handle any guest requests or issues promptly and courteously. Additionally, the Server Assistant will be accountable for maintaining a clean and organized dining room and workstation, adhering strictly to all safety and company policies. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED or vocational training or job-related course work
  • Food & beverage experience preferably in fine dining or resort
  • Knowledge of world class hospitality and service
  • Valid Food Handler’s License
  • Valid State Driver’s License
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment while remaining organized and prioritizing workload
  • Friendly and professional manner under high demands with guests, team members, and management

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma, GED or vocational training or job-related course work
  • Preferably 6 months of food & beverage experience, preferably in fine dining or a resort
  • Knowledge of world class hospitality and service
  • Valid Food Handler’s License
  • Valid State Driver’s License
  • Proficient ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment while remaining organized and prioritizing workload throughout the day
  • Has a friendly and professional manner under periods of high demands and with guest, team members, and management

Job Duties

  • Greet, guide and deliver world class service by being the professional of the space including menu proficiency including both food preparation, ingredients as well as all beverages, knowledge with allergens, guest demographics and resort area awareness
  • Assist with the sequence of service and while being present, yet unobtrusive on the floor
  • Prepare tables with special attention to sanitation and presentation
  • Keep up-to-date knowledge on all menu items including preparation, any allergens, and alternative preparations, and specials
  • Communicate food restrictions to Food & Beverage and Culinary team
  • Check food before serving it to guest to ascertain that appearance, temperature, order and portions are correct
  • Converse with the guests at a high level, being aware of their needs and fulfill special guest requests as instructed by management or the guest directly
  • Ensure confidentiality of guests before and throughout their stay
  • Assist with guest service issues accurately and promptly
  • Communicate effectively with Restaurant Manager to assist
  • Maintain up-to-date awareness of Resort information and amenities
  • Maintain a clean, organized dining room and workstation
  • Accountable for opening and closing checklists as well as any/all tasks assigned by management/similar
  • Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures
