The Canopy by Hilton location in Minneapolis, situated in the charming and historic Mill District neighborhood, is a Hilton franchised property owned by Sherman Associates. The position open is for a Server Assistant, a critical role in the hotel’s Food & Beverage department. This role is pivotal in supporting the delivery of exceptional dining experiences across various service outlets including the main restaurant, room service, club lounge, and banquet facilities. The Server Assistant embodies the Spirit to Serve, bringing friendliness, courtesy, professionalism, and strong communication skills to the role. They are essential in ensuring the smooth flow of food and beverage service from kitchen to table, maintaining organization and prioritization amid a fast-paced environment, and serving guests efficiently with a positive demeanor. This role is a part-time position with schedule availability needed on both weekdays and weekends, earning $16.37 per hour plus generous tips. Responsibilities range from maintaining side stations and assisting servers with their needs to managing inventory of service materials and ensuring adherence to health guidelines. The server assistant also plays a key role in table maintenance, bussing tables, cleaning spills, and ensuring cleanliness and smooth operation of the restaurant spaces. Job Duties

  • maintains flow of food and product from the kitchen to table service
  • understands room service, club lounge, banquet and restaurant's food and beverage menu
  • organizes, prioritizes, and maintains order from servers to kitchen
  • presents food at tables in a knowledgeable and friendly manner
  • proactive in table maintenance
  • restocks needs of the kitchen expediter pass including ketchup speed pours, to-go equipment, and other condiments as needed
  • performs bussing responsibilities such as clearing used tableware from tables and bar
  • performs clean-ups of spills or other customer accidents as needed
  • cleans cups and dishes in back of house and adheres to dish-washing procedures
  • ensures servers are equipped with clean glasses in front of house at all times
  • assists servers in maintaining inventory of service materials including glassware, silverware, plate ware, and perishables
  • maintains knowledge of and adheres to food handlers guidelines
  • interacts with all guests in a friendly and fast manner
  • maintains specific side-work and ensures the cleanliness and smooth operation of the restaurant
  • quickly clears and resets tables
  • completes other tasks and duties as assigned based on business needs
