The role of Server Assistant at Hawkers Asian Street Food is an essential position that supports the restaurant’s operations and ensures that the dining environment remains clean, inviting, and efficient. Server Assistants play a pivotal role in resetting tables quickly and professionally to maintain the flow of guests through the restaurant. They handle tasks such as clearing tables, cleaning the dining area and restrooms, assisting servers with drink refills, and running food and beverages to guests. This role requires teamwork, flexibility, and a strong customer service focus to contribute to a seamless and enjoyable dining experience.

The Server Assistant position is ideal for individuals who thrive in fast-paced, team-oriented settings and who have a passion for providing excellent customer service. The job demands physical stamina as the assistant will frequently stand, walk, bend, squat, and lift up to 20 pounds. Candidates must be willing to obtain Food Handler Certification and adhere to safety standards such as OSHA and HACCP. Being at least 18 years of age is also a requirement for this role. able to lift and carry up to 20 lbs
flexible with scheduling to ensure efficient restaurant operation

must understand and follow OSHA and HACCP compliance standards

Job Qualifications

Previous experience in a fast-paced restaurant environment preferred
basic knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices

Job Duties

Obtain service area assignments at the beginning of each shift
promptly greet guests as they are seated and assist in bringing beverages to the table, as requested by the server
run food and drinks and clear tables after guests leave in a quick and efficient manner

take tableware to dish room and place silverware, dishes, glassware, etc. in appropriate areas for washing
promptly clean tabletops, chairs, and booths between settings
respond appropriately to guest requests and communicate guest requests to the server immediately
inspect assigned restroom every 15 minutes and clean as needed
welcome guests as they arrive and thank guests as they are leaving
demonstrate good people skills
show flexibility in terms of schedule to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant as directed by restaurant management
support host with restroom cleaning and restocking responsibilities
support team by doing ongoing side work throughout the shift
be a team player and help fellow team members at every opportunity
other duties may be assigned as the need arises
must have or be willing to obtain Food Handlers Certification and understand and follow OSHA and HACCP compliance standards
must be at least 18 years of age
