Job Description
The Alida, a distinguished 173-room hotel located on Savannah's revitalized riverfront, embodies the essence of Southern hospitality combined with modern life and timeless Southern charm. Named in honor of Alida Harper Fowlkes, a celebrated entrepreneur who played a significant role in shaping Savannah's contemporary spirit, The Alida stands as a beacon for those who appreciate the rich cultural heritage and vibrant community of the city. As part of the Makeready collection, this hotel not only offers exceptional accommodation and amenities but also prides itself on fostering a supportive and inclusive work environment where every team member can thrive as their authentic self. The Alida's commitment to equality and opportunity is reflected in its non-discriminatory policies and dedication to building a diverse, talented team.
Joining The Alida's team as a Food Runner or Support Staff in the restaurant division means becoming a vital part of creating memorable guest experiences that go beyond just serving meals. This entry-level role is perfect for individuals who are passionate and eager to learn the hospitality industry, especially those looking to develop a deeper understanding of restaurant operations beyond the menu. The role focuses on anticipating and fulfilling guest needs proactively, ensuring swift delivery of food, timely refilling of drinks, and overall enhancing the dining atmosphere. Attention to detail in setting and preparing tables, maintaining cleanliness, and assisting servers contributes to a welcoming environment where guests can fully enjoy their meals and the ambiance of the Southern riverfront.
The position offers an opportunity to grow within a dynamic and supportive hotel and restaurant setting, benefiting from Makeready's comprehensive package of employee benefits. These include accommodating paid time off, medical, dental, and vision coverage, pet insurance, company-matched dependent care and 401(k) plans, a student loan repayment program, and various other ancillary benefits aimed at supporting the health, happiness, and well-being of team members. The workplace culture is built on Guiding Principles that promote teamwork, mutual respect, and professional growth, ensuring that all employees feel valued and empowered to succeed based on their individual skills and contributions.
