The role being offered is that of a Busser, an essential team member who supports food servers and ensures smooth table operations to enhance the overall dining experience. This position is fundamental in maintaining cleanliness, timely table turnover, and readiness for guests in every meal period. The Busser will be responsible for preparing and resetting tables, stocking service stations with necessary items such as silverware and condiments, and assisting servers by delivering beverages and other dining necessities. They will also manage the transportation of dirty tableware to dishwashing areas and maintain cleanliness and organization around the dining area, consistently upholding the restaurant's health and safety standards.

The Busser plays a vital role in guest satisfaction by promptly attending to tables, responding courteously and professionally, and handling unexpected spills or special guest requests with care. The ability to work efficiently as part of a team, manage physical demands such as standing for long periods and carrying heavy trays, and maintain composure during busy periods is crucial to success. Job Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Any combination of education, training, or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities
  • Prior hospitality experience preferred
  • Flexibility and self-motivation
  • Positive and professional attitude towards guests, co-workers and management
  • Ability to perform all related duties as assigned
  • Ability to stand and walk during 8 to 10 hour shifts
  • Ability to reach, bend, stoop and wipe
  • Ability to lift and carry large trays up to 30 pounds
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle stressful situations during busy periods

Job Qualifications

  • Complete knowledge of appropriate table settings and service ware
  • Basic knowledge of all menus and wine list
  • Ability to work efficiently as a team member
  • Knowledge of restaurant layout
  • Ability to observe all safety procedures during the execution of assigned duties
  • Ability to observe all restaurant policies regarding uniform, hygiene and grooming
  • Ability to read, write and speak English sufficient to understand menus, special promotions, and communicate with guests
  • Prior hospitality experience preferred

Job Duties

  • Prepare any necessary setup to perform the job properly
  • Quickly clear dirty table settings and prepare the table for resetting
  • Maintain stock and cleanliness of stations for all meal periods with necessary equipment including silverware, linen and condiments
  • Serve guests with beverages, bread and butter to begin their dining experience and replenish as necessary
  • Transport all dirty tableware from the dining room to the dishwashing area for proper cleaning
  • Keep the workstation clean
  • Perform general cleaning tasks using standard restaurant cleaning products as assigned by supervisor to adhere to health standards
  • Perform other duties as requested such as cleaning unexpected spills or special guest requests
  • Remove the garbage bags/bin from restaurant and bar
  • Report to supervisor before ending shift
  • Attend pre-shift meeting to review and communicate information regarding service, specials, and other updates
  • Consistent attendance at company training programs
