Job Description
COTE is a dynamic and innovative restaurant concept founded by proprietor Simon Kim, located in New York City. It uniquely combines the authentic dining experience of Korean Barbeque with the refined elegance of a classic American Steakhouse. COTE prides itself on offering an interactive and convivial atmosphere that invites guests to savor the highest quality USDA Prime beef cuts. These premium cuts are sourced and prepared with meticulous care, aged in-house in a dedicated dry aging room, ensuring an enhanced depth of flavor and perfect tenderness. The establishment is known for its smokeless grills at every table, allowing guests to enjoy a seamless grilling experience without the discomfort often associated with conventional barbeque settings. COTE's beverage program complements this culinary expertise with an extensive wine list featuring over 1200 labels and a thoughtfully curated selection of classic yet creative cocktails, making each meal an elevated and memorable occasion.
COTE holds the distinction of being New York City's first Korean Steakhouse, setting a benchmark for excellence in both food quality and service standards. The restaurant operates under a clear philosophy summarized by its mantra: "+ + =" which embodies the synergy of exceptional ingredients, expert preparation, and outstanding hospitality.
The position open at COTE demands a committed individual eager to engage in a fast-paced, premium dining environment. The role involves ensuring superior customer service and maintaining the operational cleanliness and efficiency of the restaurant’s specialized setups, including the coffee and tea stations, the dish pit, service hutches, and dining areas. The candidate will be responsible for creating a welcoming experience by delivering enthusiastic greetings and farewells, guiding guests through beverage options, and facilitating smooth communication between the bar and service staff.
Employees will also be entrusted with maintaining the delicate functioning of the smokeless grills, including daily cleaning, part removal, and rim polishing, to guarantee an impeccable dining encounter. This role requires an individual with excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to remain professional and composed under pressure. The job offers an hourly wage range of $17 USD and is tailored to meet New York State's pay transparency legislation. COTE also provides a comprehensive benefits package with variations for full-time and part-time employees to foster career growth and personal well-being within a supportive workplace environment.
