The role of Server Assistant is essential to maintaining the smooth workflow of the dining area by providing a friendly welcome and farewell to every guest. The Server Assistant utilizes the Table Management System to effectively manage guest seating and waitlists, ensuring that guests are comfortably seated and informed about any wait times. This position demands a high level of customer service skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a busy environment. The Server Assistant supports the front-of-house team by assisting with food and beverage delivery, pre-bussing tables, managing takeout orders, and maintaining cleanliness in the dining and lobby areas. This role is crucial in contributing to a positive dining experience, addressing guest concerns promptly and professionally, and helping the team achieve overall operational excellence. Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 16 years of age
  • ability to stand or walk for hours at a time
  • ability to lift and carry items up to 50 lbs
  • able to tolerate temperature changes
  • ability to immerse hands frequently in water and cleaning solutions
  • must have good vision including close, distance, peripheral, and depth perception
  • able to adjust focus
  • availability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays

Job Qualifications

  • Must be at least 16 years of age
  • no prior work experience required
  • ability to understand and provide friendly guest service
  • ability to comply with food handling and serving regulations
  • ability to process cash handling and transactions
  • ability to operate computer, calculator, phone and other office equipment
  • good organizational and time management skills

  • ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • ability to work in fast-paced environment under pressure

Job Duties

  • Use the Table Management System (TMS) to control guest seating flow
  • utilize wait and reservation lists effectively
  • maintain a welcoming and friendly attitude
  • greet guests enthusiastically and assign tables using TMS
  • notify guests politely if there is a wait and manage expectations
  • inform guests about current features and promotions
  • answer questions and provide menu suggestions
  • address guest concerns and inform the manager
  • support team members by delivering food and beverages
  • pre-bus tables and provide refills when possible
  • set up and maintain the server assistant stand and front lobby area
  • answer phones and assist guests courteously
  • deliver correct food and drinks as needed
  • practice safe food handling and cleanliness standards
  • bag and manage takeout orders and check for accuracy
  • ensure guests receive a friendly farewell and solicit feedback
  • observe tables, keep track of clean, dirty and unoccupied tables
  • clean dirty tables and sweep around tables as needed
  • accommodate guests' requests such as refilling beverages and providing silverware
  • perform other assigned duties
