Job Description
Conversation Restaurant and Bar at Thompson Seattle is a premier dining destination located within the iconic Thompson Seattle hotel. Known for its contemporary ambiance and exceptional culinary artistry, the restaurant offers guests a vibrant and engaging atmosphere alongside a diverse menu that celebrates fresh, locally sourced ingredients. The establishment prides itself on delivering extraordinary food and beverage experiences supported by a passionate and professional team committed to excellence in hospitality. At Thompson Seattle, the focus is on creating memorable moments for guests through attentive service, a refined menu, and an inviting setting that blends modern aesthetics with comfort.
As a Conversation Flex position within the Food & Beverage team, this unique role offers dynamic opportunities to serve guests in multiple capacities including server, server assistant, and bartender. The role revolves around versatility and adaptability, allowing the team member to engage with guests by submitting orders, presenting food and beverage options, and offering expert recommendations on menu and cocktail selections. Bartending duties include crafting and serving a variety of specialty cocktails while maintaining a lively and welcoming bar atmosphere. When performing as a server assistant, responsibilities extend to clearing and resetting tables, preparing the restaurant environment, and ensuring cleanliness and sanitation protocols are upheld.
This position supports not only the bustling Conversation Restaurant but also the In-Room Dining service, providing crucial flexibility and breadth within the hospitality team. Working both morning and evening shifts, employees enjoy a diverse workday filled with engaging interactions and opportunities to hone their mixology and customer service skills. Given the fast-paced restaurant environment, applicants must be eager to deliver exceptional service with energy and enthusiasm while managing multiple tasks efficiently. This hourly role starts at $18.00 per hour plus service charge, with opportunities for increased pay after five, seven, and ten years of service. Added gratuities from guests are fully retained by the colleague, enhancing earning potential.
Thompson Seattle ensures all employees are supported with comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, and vision insurance for full-time team members after just 30 days, a 401k retirement savings plan, basic life and short-term disability insurance, parental supports such as new child leave and adoption assistance, compassionate leave, and paid time off that accrues from day one. Vacation time increases based on tenure, and sick leave accrues in alignment with Seattle's Paid Sick and Safe Time Ordinance. The role also offers perks like colleague discounted rates, complimentary room nights after 90 days, flexible spending accounts, subsidized public transportation passes or parking, tuition reimbursement, dry cleaning for uniforms, and an employee assistance program. The combination of competitive wages, a supportive work environment, and growth opportunities make this a compelling choice for hospitality professionals seeking a vibrant and rewarding role at a renowned Seattle hotel.
