The August Wilson Theatre in New York City is currently seeking passionate Food and Beverage Service Team Members to join their team on a part-time basis, with a maximum of 29 hours per week depending on business volume. This role is perfect for individuals who have a love for theater and hospitality and who excel in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Positions available include server roles such as Coat Check, Delivered-at-Seat service, and occasional opportunities for Bartender or Lounge Attendant roles based on skill level. Training and shadow shifts are provided and will be compensated at the stated hourly wage of $19.00.

As a vital part of the August Wilson Theatre team, you will contribute to maintaining sales goals and ensuring smooth operational flow while delivering exceptional guest experiences to Broadway patrons. This high-energy, detail-oriented role requires excellent communication skills, teamwork, flexibility, and the ability to prioritize guest needs safely. Physical demands include frequent travel up and down stairs, standing for the duration of shifts, and lifting or carrying up to 50 pounds. Availability on weekends, matinees, and holidays is preferred. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous hospitality or service industry experience preferred
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Capacity to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Availability for part-time shifts up to 29 hours per week including weekends, matinees, and holidays
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to follow training and safety protocols

Job Qualifications

  • Previous experience in fast-paced front of house environment preferred
  • Knowledge of food safety standards such as TIPS, Food Handler’s, or Serve Safe certifications encouraged
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends, matinees, and holidays
  • Team player with ability to work independently when necessary
  • Physical capability to stand for long periods and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Bilingual skills are a plus

Job Duties

  • Provide friendly and professional food and beverage service to guests
  • Perform coat check duties efficiently
