Job Duties
- Prepare room for dining by setting and detailing tables, preparing condiments, candles, napkins, plates, glassware and utensils
- Help patrons select food and beverages by presenting menu offering, offering beverages, suggesting courses, explaining menu additions, identifying appropriate wine pairings, answering allergy, dietary restriction, and food preparation questions
- Inform guests about restaurant offerings and other outlets on property or neighborhood
- Adhere to bar-lab policies, sanitation standards, safety and alcohol control policies
- Stay updated on current menu choices, additions, modifications and unavailable items
- Transmit orders to bar and kitchen using POS, identifying special requests and dietary needs
- Fire courses according to kitchen and guest needs
- Ensure timely and accurate delivery of orders with correct accompaniments
- Respond to additional guest requests and involve management for complex issues
- Maintain table settings throughout meal by removing courses, replenishing utensils, and refilling water
- Properly describe, open and pour wine tableside
- Correctly obtain payment including totaling charges, issuing bill, accepting payment and returning receipt
- Retrieve signed credit card or room charge slip prior to guest departure and thank them
- Assist other staff to contribute to team effort
- Perform cleaning tasks as directed
- Fill in for absent staff when needed
- Assist with special events
- Adhere to grooming and appearance standards consistently
- Promptly address guest service issues and escalate to management when necessary
- Perform additional tasks as requested to maintain service flow and cleanliness
