Job Duties
- Following the AOA Time and Attendance policy and being punctual for scheduled shifts
- Complete the opening checklist for the role
- Ensure the dining room and tables are set correctly for service based on AOA standards
- Polish all service ware and maintain cleanliness of chairs, tables, and surrounding areas
- Review stations and floor chart and know corresponding opening, closing, and running side-work
- Assist with set-up of tables including highchairs, extra place-settings, and chairs during service
- Greet tables within one minute of guests being seated and use guest names accordingly
- Demonstrate knowledgeable product recommendations and describe food and beverages beyond menu descriptions
- Take food and beverage orders accurately into POS including modifiers
- Ask proper follow-up questions based on guest orders
- Write down and repeat orders for accuracy
- Communicate allergies and dietary restrictions effectively with kitchen
- Proactively course table and preset with needed accoutrements
- Communicate special instructions or requests with kitchen, staff, and managers
- Serve children first and ladies first when delivering products
- Check back within two minutes or two bites to ensure guest satisfaction
- Serve and refill beverages efficiently
- Provide professional wine service including presentation, decanting, opening, and pouring
- Promptly remove unnecessary items and keep service unintrusive and efficient
- Offer dessert, coffee, and tea service in a refined manner
- Manage clearing courses and preparing to-go containers
- Ensure bill accuracy and proper presentation
- Follow parking validation policies
- Thank guests by name and handle check settlement with attention to detail
- Verify guest room charges and save all payment receipts
- Offer anticipatory assistance and assist departing guests
- Reset tables and clear dining rooms efficiently
- Complete closing duties and POS reports as per standards
- Use correct procedures for shift changes and time-off requests
- Uphold integrity with zero tolerance for theft or dishonesty
