The role currently available is for a dynamic Waitstaff team member within the AFC Workforce Center, a dedicated group offering flexible staffing support across multiple communities. This position is critical in ensuring seamless staffing coverage during vacations, extended leaves, and other staffing shortages, providing residents and guests with outstanding dining experiences. As part of the workforce center, employees enjoy assignment-based work with provided training and the opportunity for varied assignments within the communities served.

The Waitstaff role involves greeting guests warmly and taking beverage and food orders promptly and professionally. Responsibilities also include preparing food and beverages in compliance with health, safety, and presentation standards. Employees will use the POS system to enter orders accurately and serve residents and guests courteously, timely, and professionally, consistently meeting or exceeding service expectations. Collaboration with supervisors and managers is essential to address residents' concerns about food quality and service. Waitstaff members also provide continuous feedback to management on food preparation and presentation and perform opening, closing, and side-work duties to maintain clean and organized workstations. Additionally, this position requires participation in emergency drills and adherence to the organization's disaster response protocols.

This part-time call-in role offers flexibility with shifts available primarily during the day or evening, requiring a minimum of two shifts per month and averaging less than 20 hours per week. The position offers a competitive hourly rate starting at $18.18. The role requires individuals to have a high school diploma or equivalent, with customer service experience preferred. Candidates should be comfortable using computer systems for order input and data research and be physically able to handle the demands of the job, including standing, walking, lifting up to 25 pounds regularly, and occasionally up to 50 pounds. The working environment includes both indoor and outdoor settings with exposure to various weather conditions and materials.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior customer service experience preferred
  • Working knowledge of POS system and computer applications
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Ability to lift regularly up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to perform emergency response duties as required
  • Willingness to work flexible shifts including days and evenings
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Job Qualifications

  • High school graduate preferred

Job Duties

  • Greets all guests and takes beverage and food orders in a prompt and professional manner
  • Prepares food and beverages for service to residents and guests in compliance with all health and safety regulations and presentation standards
  • Accurately enters orders into the POS system
  • Serves food and beverages to residents and guests with accuracy in a courteous, timely, and professional manner, meeting or exceeding guest service standards and expectations
  • Works with and follows up with Supervisors and Managers to address and respond to residents’ concerns and requests in regard to food quality, service, and related matters
  • Provides Managers and Supervisors with continuous feedback from residents on food preparation, presentation, and taste
  • Performs side-work and other opening or closing duties as required
  • Ensures that waitstaff stations are clean and maintained throughout the shift
  • Performs the necessary duties for emergency drills and situation such as fire, fire alarms, hurricanes, and other possible emergencies as outlined in the Disaster Response Playbook
  • Interacts with residents/clients and co-workers with patience, understanding and kindness in accordance with Arcadia Family of Companies’ mission and core values
