This specific role is for a part-time Server at the Princeton community located at 1701 SE Oldham Parkway, Lee's Summit, MO. The Server position offers a competitive pay range of $15 to $21.50 per hour and operates on a shift schedule of Mondays and Sundays from 7:00 am to 2:30 pm. The role is more than just serving food; it encompasses creating a warm, welcoming dining atmosphere, engaging with residents, and contributing to their overall quality of life. The Server, affectionately termed as 'Host with the Most,' is responsible for greeting and mingling with residents, making them feel at home and fostering connections among them during meal times. Additionally, this role includes preparation duties, such as setting tables, prepping salads, and rolling silverware—which are critical to ensuring a seamless dining experience.

Cleaning and tidiness also fall under the Server's responsibilities, described as being a 'Titan of Tidiness,' where bussing tables and sweeping are essential tasks that uphold the community’s standards of cleanliness and pride. The Server serves as an 'Appetite Anthropologist' by noting and communicating any changes in residents' dietary habits or attendance, facilitating better care and attention from supervisors and wellness staff.

This position requires an energetic and attentive team member who is comfortable with physical activity, such as walking, standing, bending, and occasionally assisting residents with mobility. Job Requirements

  • You must be at least sixteen (16) years of age
  • You can read, write, understand, and communicate in English at a minimum of 8th grade proficiency
  • You will have a positive and energetic attitude who will love our residents
  • You must be active as this role requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and stooping all day
  • You must have the ability to frequently lift and/or move items up to 50 pounds
  • You must be able to assist residents with sitting, standing, and walking, as well as assisting persons after a fall
  • You must be criminally cleared

Job Qualifications

  • At least 16 years of age
  • Ability to read, write, understand and communicate in English at a minimum 8th grade level
  • Positive and energetic attitude towards working with senior residents
  • Capable of assisting residents with sitting, standing, and walking
  • Experience in a customer service or hospitality role preferred
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Job Duties

  • Greet residents and make them feel welcome in the dining area
  • Mingle with residents to foster a community atmosphere
  • Set tables and prepare salads for meals
  • Roll silverware and prepare dining service areas
  • Buss tables and maintain cleanliness in dining spaces
  • Sweep floors and ensure tidiness post-service
