Job Description
Twigs Bistro and Martini Bar is a distinguished dining establishment known for its inviting atmosphere and exceptional culinary offerings. As a full-service restaurant, Twigs Bistro prides itself on delivering a superior dining experience through a combination of delectable cuisine, impeccable service, and a warm, welcoming environment. The bistro and martini bar blend classic and contemporary elements to create a unique spot where guests can enjoy quality food and expertly crafted martinis in a comfortable yet sophisticated setting. The focus on guest satisfaction and attention to detail has established Twigs as a favored destination for both casual dinners and special occasions.
The role of a server at Twigs Bistro and Martini Bar is essential in upholding the restaurant's high service standards and ensuring guests enjoy a memorable dining experience. This position is hourly and classified as variable and non-exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), which means the schedule may fluctuate based on the restaurant's needs. Servers play a critical role in managing multiple tasks efficiently within a fast-paced environment, providing outstanding customer service, and maintaining cleanliness and organization throughout the shift.
Servers must be adept at interacting with guests in a friendly, courteous, and flexible manner to accommodate their individual requests and dietary needs. They are expected to help guests make informed menu selections by presenting and explaining items, including chef's specials and beverage options such as wines and cocktails. Additionally, servers assist with basic side work, including stocking and cleaning to uphold a sanitary and safe workplace. Collaboration with front-of-house (FOH) management and other staff members is essential to maintain smooth operations and meet the restaurant's service goals.
This role demands strong multitasking abilities, attention to detail, communication skills, and a genuine passion for hospitality. The server must be capable of addressing special dietary requests, delivering orders accurately and promptly, and ensuring table settings are neat and replenished as needed. Furthermore, servers contribute to guest satisfaction by efficiently handling billing and payment processing and concluding the dining experience with positive interactions that encourage repeat visits. Beyond serving, they support various FOH duties such as answering phones, managing reservations, assisting hosts with seating, aiding expos and bussers, and completing shift-specific tasks.
The position requires regular attendance and adherence to the restaurant's policies and standards, including a neat and professional appearance as outlined in the employee training manual. With a minimum of one year of full-service restaurant experience preferred, candidates should also be prepared to obtain any necessary government licenses or certificates, such as local health department certifications and state liquor control board certificates. CPR and first aid training, while not mandatory, are considered beneficial for this role.
Joining Twigs Bistro and Martini Bar as a server offers an opportunity to be part of a dynamic and guest-focused team. The establishment values employees who demonstrate commitment, professionalism, and a positive attitude. If you thrive in a vibrant hospitality environment and are passionate about creating memorable dining experiences, this role could be an excellent fit. The bistro encourages ongoing compliance with its operational rules to ensure a safe and efficient workplace, emphasizing the importance of teamwork and excellence in service delivery.
