The role of Server at the Auditorium Theatre offers an opportunity to be part of this iconic institution by delivering top-tier guest services during various events and functions hosted within the Theatre. This position is crucial for enhancing the guest experience, focusing on efficient and courteous service while selling food and beverages to patrons. Servers are expected to uphold the highest standards of professionalism, hospitality, and attentiveness, contributing to the overall ambiance and satisfaction of Theatre visitors. The role demands interaction with a high volume of guests in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, often requiring the handling of multiple orders and the operation of POS systems with accuracy. Essential responsibilities include verifying customer identification for alcoholic beverage sales and completing assigned sidework tasks, all while maintaining adherence to the Theatre's established food and beverage policies. Job Requirements
- Has knowledge and experience working as a server within a large theatre or high volume environment
- must be receptive to working in inclement weather and extreme temperatures
- available to work a flexible schedule, including evening, weekend and holiday hours
- works successfully in a fast paced and loud environment
- ability to lift and carry 15 lbs
- required to stand for long periods of time
- ability to bend, lift, and walk up and down stairs
Job Qualifications
- Has knowledge and experience working as a server within a large theatre or high volume environment
- excellent verbal and communication skills
- strong spirit of optimism and collaboration
- knowledge of POS systems
- Basset Certified
Job Duties
- Presents themselves in a positive, professional, and friendly manner with guests and teammates
- takes food and beverage orders from guests in the theatre in a courteous and efficient manner
- accurately rings all items sold and collects payment from guests using the POS system
- adheres to the theatre’s food and beverage policies as outlined in the handbook
- thanks each guest at the end of each transaction
- works with bartenders to fulfill drink and food orders
- checks customer identification when selling alcoholic beverages
- completes sidework and other duties as assigned
