As a Server for the 2026 cruising season, you will play a vital role in delivering outstanding hospitality aboard American Cruise Lines’ luxury vessels. This temporary but full-time position lasts up to 28 weeks and offers wages from $1,000 to $1,400 per week plus bonuses, with all major living expenses aboard the ship covered, including travel, room, board, uniforms, and training. Working as a Server on board is a fantastic opportunity to gain foundational hospitality experience and embark on a rewarding cruise industry career. During your contract, you will provide passengers with an elegant and memorable dining experience, handling everything from efficiently setting up and breaking down meal services to catering to specific culinary requests. Your duties involve personalizing guest interactions by acknowledging guests by name, guiding them to their tables, presenting menus, and recommending courses and beverages to enhance their dining satisfaction.

The role demands excellent communication skills and the ability to relay orders precisely to the galley team to ensure prompt delivery of perfectly presented meals. Servers may also be called upon to perform auxiliary roles such as greeting guests on embarkation, serving afternoon teas, snacks, and catering evening entertainment events. This position requires stamina and resilience, as you will be working approximately 12 hours per day, seven days a week while onboard. Given the ship’s constant motion on the water, Servers must adapt to an environment influenced by six distinct ship motions: surge, sway, heave, roll, pitch, and yaw.

Successful candidates must maintain professional grooming standards with limited visible tattoos and piercings and possess the physical ability to stand for long periods, lift weights up to 50 pounds occasionally, bend, squat, reach frequently, use stairs repeatedly, and live onboard for the entire contract duration. Safety training and emergency preparedness are integral parts of the job due to the nature of shipboard life.
