The role of the Server/Dietary Aid at Ridgeview Gardens is pivotal in maintaining the health, satisfaction, and well-being of residents through food service and kitchen support. This position is responsible for assisting with food preparation, washing dishes, and maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen and dining areas. The Server/Dietary Aid plays an essential part in serving meals to residents, including those who require help with eating. Working closely with the dietary manager, this individual ensures that meals and beverages are prepared and served in a safe and sanitary manner while adhering to established health and safety standards.
Additionally, the job involves setting up and taking down dining areas, assisting in kitchen maintenance and cleanup, and delivering food and snacks to residents' rooms. The role requires attention to detail, a strong sense of hygiene, and an attitude of service excellence, often assisting residents in a way that respects their dignity and promotes their nutritional needs. The Server/Dietary Aid is also tasked with taking inventory of food supplies and helping organize weekly orders, ensuring the operational flow of the dietary department runs smoothly.
Ideal candidates will possess a current Food Handler's Permit and demonstrate effective communication skills with residents, families, and colleagues. Job Requirements
- Must possess a current Food Handler's Permit
- Provide written proof of recent TB test or obtain within two weeks of date of hire
- Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, supervisors, and associates
- Positive attitude and willingness to deliver excellent service
- Ability to perform unpleasant tasks with grace and cooperate with team members
- Willingness to work with elderly individuals
Job Qualifications
- Must possess a current Food Handler's Permit
- Have the ability to effectively communicate with residents, families, supervisors, and associates
- Must provide written proof of recent TB test or obtain within two weeks of date of hire

Job Duties
- Serves all food according to the menu in a safe, sanitary manner under the direction of the dining services coordinator/manager
- Maintaining kitchen sanitation and safety standards under the direction of the Dining Services Coordinator
- Assists in serving meals to residents within an assisted living community as well as maintaining standards of kitchen cleanliness
- Setting up and taking down the dining areas
- Follows departmental procedures including sanitation, safety, and cleaning schedules
- Reports any concerns with the health and well-being of residents to the Resident Care Coordinator or Nurse
- Maintains and protects the confidentiality of resident information at all times
- Meets or exceeds, the standards of appearance
- complies with the sanitation rules, hygiene and health standards of community personnel
- Serves meals in a fine and gracious manner, ensuring the dignity and nutritional needs of the residents
- Assists with putting away and organizing the weekly orders
- Helps keep the kitchen and dining room clean and organized
- Insures that the cleanliness of kitchen and dining area meets or exceeds the dietary manager's specifications and is in compliance with state regulations
- Perform other reasonable tasks as assigned by supervisor
