The Server position at Grand Living is pivotal in maintaining and enhancing the impeccable dining experience that residents, their families, and guests expect. This role is integral to the culinary service team, assisting in delivering food and beverage services across multiple dining venues including a Bistro, Casual and Formal dining rooms, Luminations® memory care dining, the Club Room, and during special events and private functions. The Server represents the brand through The Sterling Touch® service approach—professional, courteous, friendly, helpful, and timely interactions that foster a high level of customer satisfaction. Reporting directly to the Executive Chef and Dining Room Supervisor, the Server must adhere to Grand Living community standards, policies, and operational procedures. This role requires the ability to work a flexible schedule including weekdays and rotating weekends, suitable for an open schedule format. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Minimum one year of serving experience preferred
- Ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, and work continuously without prolonged sitting
- Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds
- Proficient manual dexterity with kitchen tools and equipment
- Ability to communicate effectively in English
- Flexible availability including weekdays and rotating weekends
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- One year of serving experience preferred
- Ability to read, write, and understand English
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in manual dexterity for handling kitchen utensils and equipment
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Prior experience in senior living or hospitality settings is a plus
Job Duties
- Assist in the delivery of culinary activities in various dining venues
- Provide exceptional guest service using The Sterling Touch® approach
- Serve residents, family members, and guests in a professional and courteous manner
- Collaborate with kitchen and dining staff to ensure timely and accurate food service
- Support special events and private function catering as needed
