The Server role at Underbelly is pivotal in delivering this welcoming and authentic dining experience. Servers are ambassadors of the restaurant, expected to provide attentive, courteous, and knowledgeable service with a warm and friendly demeanor. The position demands a genuine passion for hospitality and an excellent understanding of all menu items, beverage options, and wine selections. Servers are responsible for ensuring guests experience seamless and enjoyable visits—from greeting and seating to taking orders accurately through the POS system and handling special requests or concerns efficiently. The role requires multitasking in a dynamic environment, maintaining close communication with both coworkers and management, and actively participating in all training sessions and meetings to uphold the highest service standards.

Job Requirements

One year of experience in a similar or supportive role preferred
Food Handler and Alcohol Awareness Certifications
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a dynamic environment
Ability to learn, retain, and present product, menu, and allergy information
Knowledge of or ability to learn restaurant POS system
Ability to calculate accurate bill amounts and use proper credit card and money handling skills
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Hardworking, dedicated, with a real passion for hospitality
Highly motivated and flexible with the ability to take initiative
Flexible schedule, able to work evenings, mornings, weekends, and holidays when needed

Job Qualifications

One year of experience in a similar or supportive role preferred
Food Handler and Alcohol Awareness Certifications
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Ability to learn and retain product, menu, and allergy information
Proficiency or ability to learn restaurant POS system
Strong money handling and credit card processing skills
Hardworking, dedicated, and passionate about hospitality

Flexible schedule including availability mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays

Job Duties

Greet and welcome guests promptly
Receive and take guest orders accurately in POS system
Prepare and serve meal accompaniments and mise en place
Maintain product knowledge of food, wine, and beverage menus
Ensure guests have enjoyable experiences and handle complaints appropriately
Open bottled wine and execute wine service
Assist with setup, breakdown, bussing tables, to-go orders, seating, and answering phones as needed
Maintain communication with support staff and management
Attend all required trainings and meetings
Take on additional responsibilities as needed
