Job Description
Walk-On's Sports Bistreaux is a vibrant and growing restaurant chain rooted in the spirit of teamwork, hard work, and community. Founded by two LSU walk-on basketball players in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Walk-On's has blossomed from a single location into a nationally recognized brand renowned for its scratch-made dishes with a distinctive Louisiana flair. This establishment offers a fun, high-energy game-day atmosphere where guests can enjoy championship-level hospitality in a welcoming environment. At Walk-On's, every team member plays an integral role, from the kitchen staff to front-of-house, fostering a culture that treats every employee like family and values every contribution toward creating memorable guest experiences.
The Server role at Walk-On's is a part-time, non-exempt position reporting to the Manager on Duty. Servers serve as the first point of contact for guests, delivering energetic, friendly, and attentive service that embodies the restaurant's championship-level standards. This role is fundamental in creating the game day atmosphere that keeps customers coming back time and again. Servers are responsible for greeting guests warmly, efficiently seating them, taking and delivering orders promptly, and ensuring dining areas are clean and inviting. They are also instrumental in handling takeout orders accurately and quickly, managing payments and POS operations, and following all state and company alcohol service regulations, including maintaining any required certifications.
Walk-On's places importance on a flexible and team-first approach. Servers are expected to arrive ready to contribute positively, maintain professionalism, and collaborate actively with both teammates and management. This role requires stamina, as it involves standing, walking, bending, and carrying trays for extended periods. It demands excellent communication skills, the ability to multitask effectively under pressure, and a commitment to guest satisfaction through outstanding service.
The environment at Walk-On's is fast-paced and high-energy, ideal for individuals who thrive in a dynamic setting. This position offers flexible part-time hours, making it well-suited for students or anyone balancing multiple commitments. Joining the Walk-On's team means becoming part of a community that embraces camaraderie, hustle, and a shared dedication to excellence. Additionally, there are opportunities to grow within the company and explore other roles, supporting long-term career advancement.
Walk-On's also prioritizes compliance with federal, state, and local regulations pertaining to food, safety, and alcohol service, ensuring a responsible and safe workplace. The company is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusion, fostering an environment where every employee is valued and respected.
Overall, the Server role at Walk-On's offers a unique chance to be part of an energetic and positive work culture that celebrates every win and encourages personal and professional growth. Employees are part of a team that supports each other, values passion and hospitality, and continuously strives to create unforgettable experiences for guests. This is more than a job; it is an opportunity to join a winning team that celebrates both the spirit of competition and the joy of hospitality.
