This ensures that every resident is treated with dignity, compassion, and respect, aligning with the core values upheld by the company.
Within the dietary department, Viva Senior Living offers an essential role as a Server/Dietary Aide responsible for ensuring that residents receive nutritious, safe, and appealing meals tailored to meet their special dietary needs. This position reports directly to the Food Service Director and plays a critical part in maintaining compliance with all health regulations and sanitation codes. Those joining the team must be prepared to work diligently in accordance with Federal, State, and Local regulations while fostering a congenial workplace and demonstrating compassionate care towards residents. The role requires the employee to be able to communicate effectively in English and work flexibly, including potential emergency callbacks during unforeseen events such as severe weather or evacuations.

Duties include preparing and serving meals in accordance with Public Health Regulations and sanitation standards, being familiar with workplace safety systems such as HACCP and WHMIS, and maintaining a clean and safe working environment through proper hygiene and equipment sanitation. Employees in this position actively contribute to creating a positive dining experience by serving meals attractively and respectfully and are expected to carry out all related tasks as assigned by the Dining Services Director.
Beyond the essential duties, the role demands a profound commitment to resident rights and safety, including confidentiality of health information, protection from abuse, and adherence to the Resident Bill of Rights. The Server/Dietary Aide assists with emergency preparedness, including participation in life safety drills and helping with resident evacuation if necessary.
