Job Description

The role we are eager to fill is that of a Food Server, a critical position where delivering personalized, polished service is paramount. As a Food Server, you will be the face of the restaurant, greeting guests warmly, guiding them through the menu with detailed knowledge about dishes, ingredients, preparation methods, and potential allergens, and taking and delivering food and beverage orders accurately and promptly. Your responsibilities will include setting tables with precision using linens, silverware, and glassware to prepare the dining section for service, maintaining constant communication with kitchen and management to stay updated on menu offerings and special instructions, and monitoring guests’ physical condition and alcohol consumption in compliance with policies.

Expect to multitask effortlessly, ensuring table accuracy, assisting with special requests such as split checks, and taking proactive steps to resolve any issues before they impact the guest’s experience. This position demands a high degree of active listening, communication skills, and teamwork abilities to deliver seamless service that exceeds expectations. The role also involves maintaining organized and sanitary workstations, restocking service areas, and performing additional duties as assigned to uphold the smooth operation of the restaurant.

Physical stamina and agility are required due to the positioning’s dynamic nature, including constant movement, standing, walking, bending, and lifting within safe limits. Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Must take and pass all training tests 85% or higher

Job Duties

  • Assist in preparing the restaurant for dining service by setting up section including preparing items such as linens silverware and glassware
  • Greet all guests promptly in a warm personal friendly manner
  • Guide guests through the menu and provide detailed accurate information on menu items including preparation methods ingredients allergens and daily specials
  • Confirm allergy indicators on food orders and follow proper procedures when handling or delivering allergy-sensitive items
  • Maintain active communication with kitchen and management to stay informed on menu changes 86'd items allergy notices and special instructions
  • Accurately take food and beverage orders and input them into the POS system in a timely manner
  • Monitor guests' physical condition when entering the restaurant and bar monitor alcohol consumption while on the premises to ensure all HCR and county serving policies are followed
  • Check guests' identification to ensure they meet minimum age requirements for consumption of alcohol
  • Maintain awareness of table numbers guest seat numbers and dining room sections to ensure accuracy and efficiency in service
  • Serve food and beverages to guests taking extra care to perform any additional table-side preparation or service as required for items served
  • Describe and recommend wines to guests bring selection to the table with appropriate glasses and pour the wine for the guests
  • Proactively check in with guests throughout the meal to anticipate and resolve issues before they arise
  • Remove dishes and glasses from tables and take them to the kitchen for cleaning Prepare the table for the next guest
  • Prepare certain hot and cold non-alcoholic beverages for guests
  • Present accurate checks manage special requests such as split checks and process payments efficiently and accurately
  • Assist the entire service team throughout the meal period to ensure all guests' expectations are exceeded
  • Restock service areas and maintain organized and sanitary workstations
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by management to support operational needs
  • Report for work on time and uphold expectations for attendance uniform and professional conduct Regular attendance is an essential function of this job
