Located in the heart of downtown Portland, The Heathman uniquely blends historic charm with contemporary comfort, offering guests an experience that is both timeless and refreshingly modern. The hotel is celebrated for its classic elegance, attention to detail, and commitment to providing impeccable service. As part of the esteemed Makeready collection, The Heathman is not only a destination but a community hub that fosters connection, creativity, and a warm welcoming atmosphere to all who pass through its doors.

This position calls for someone who can provide a dining experience that leaves guests with more than just a meal; it offers a memorable encounter that inspires them and enhances their understanding and enjoyment of their surroundings. They have the responsibility to create lasting relationships with guests, transforming first-time visitors into lifelong patrons through genuine interactions and attentiveness. The role demands a balance of efficiency and hospitality; carrying trays of food and drinks safely, firing food orders punctually, and maintaining clear communication with kitchen staff are among the core operational components. The opportunity to work at The Heathman offers not just a job but a chance to be part of a historic institution committed to cultural enrichment, service excellence, and employee well-being.

As a member of the Makeready collection, The Heathman provides a broad spectrum of thoughtful benefits and perks, designed with the health, happiness, and well-being of its staff as a priority. These include accommodating paid time off options, comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage, along with maternity and paternity leave, pet insurance, company-matched dependent care and 401(k) plans, as well as a student loan repayment program. These offerings underscore the company’s commitment to supporting its team members both personally and professionally.
