Job Description
Cooper's Hawk is a distinguished restaurant and winery that seamlessly combines a Napa-style tasting room with wine-inspired retail with a full-service restaurant, bar, and private event space. Established in 2005, the company has been dedicated to delivering a modern yet casual dining experience that emphasizes handcrafted, scratch-kitchen menu items designed to perfectly pair with their award-winning wines. Cooper's Hawk has grown to operate one of the world's largest and most recognized wine clubs. This club offers members not only exceptional wines but also exclusive dining, wine tasting, and travel experiences, all aimed at creating an immersive lifestyle brand. The recent addition of Piccolo Buco by Cooper's Hawk introduces a vibrant Roman culinary experience, complementing their renowned Napa Valley heritage. Cooper's Hawk prides itself on delivering Uncompromising Hospitality through a team-based culture that values warm, genuine interactions and thoughtful conversation.
The Server role at Cooper's Hawk is much more than taking orders; it centers around curating unforgettable experiences for guests. Servers play an integral role in connecting with guests, delighting them, and inspiring memorable moments that extend beyond a typical dining visit. The position includes guiding guests confidently through the food menu, wine selections, and the numerous perks of the Cooper's Hawk Wine Club. Servers act as ambassadors for the brand, using their knowledge and passion for wine, food, and hospitality to provide exceptional care and personalized service.
This full-time position offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, telehealth, 401k with company match, paid time off, flexible schedules, early pay access, wellness and mental health support, and opportunities for career growth through a dedicated Flight Plan. Servers receive generous discounts such as 50% off dining and carryout, 40% off retail wine, and 20% off retail and private events. Monthly wine tastings for two guests, ongoing wine and culinary education, and team member rewards including milestone recognition and referral bonuses round out the offerings for team members.
Success in this role requires coming prepared, being punctual, knowing the menu and wine list, mastering the POS system, and following standard operating procedures meticulously. Taking ownership by assisting the team wherever needed, serving with speed and care, adhering to legal alcohol service guidelines, and solving guest experience challenges proactively are essential. Communication is key, as Servers must anticipate guest and team needs, coordinate closely with the kitchen, hosts, bartenders, runners, and managers, and maintain a fluid service environment.
Servers must also make every interaction personal—welcoming guests warmly, using their names, celebrating milestones, offering genuine recommendations, educating guests about the Wine Club, and sharing the brand's story passionately. Going beyond expectations to create small delightful moments and showcasing their personality helps Servers build lasting impressions.
Applicants should be at least 21 years old, with a minimum of six months of server experience, ideally in full service or upscale casual dining. Comfort with discussing food, wine, and the Wine Club program is essential, along with a passion for hospitality and teamwork. The ability to multitask and maintain calm in a fast-paced environment, the physical stamina to lift 40 pounds and stand for up to 10 hours, and proficiency in reading, writing, and understanding English are required. Flexibility to work weekends and some holidays is necessary.
Cooper's Hawk is an equal opportunity employer that values diversity and inclusion, providing reasonable accommodations throughout the employment process. Salaries may vary and are established through consideration of multiple factors. This position offers an opportunity to join a unique lifestyle brand that blends premium wine, exceptional food, and world-class guest experiences.
