This Server role at Applebee's is integral to the guest experience and requires an upbeat, courteous, and efficient team member dedicated to providing exceptional service. Servers will be responsible for serving food and drinks while accommodating guests' needs in a timely and friendly manner by following Applebee’s Ten Basic Service Steps. Key tasks include greeting guests with a positive attitude, answering questions about the menu, making suggestions, and ensuring orders are accurately relayed to the kitchen and service bar via the point-of-sale system. Servers also maintain a lively, conversational atmosphere with guests, monitor the dining room to swiftly respond to additional requests, and handle payment transactions correctly. Participation in clearing and resetting tables ensures the dining area remains welcoming and clean throughout service hours.

This position requires stamina, mobility, and physical endurance since servers are expected to be on their feet and moving actively throughout their shifts. The role involves transporting plates, glasses, baskets, and occasionally heavier items such as cases of beer. Good communication skills with the ability to read, write, and perform basic math are essential.
