The role available is a Food and Beverage Server, a full-time, non-management position based in San Diego, California. This role involves serving food courses and alcoholic beverages to guests, setting tables to meet event and service standards, and communicating effectively with both guests and the kitchen staff. Servers are responsible for answering menu questions, managing special dietary requests, and ensuring guest satisfaction throughout their dining experience. This role requires using the MICROS system to process orders and payments accurately. Maintaining cleanliness and organization in the work area and completing closing duties are essential aspects of the job.

In addition to guest interaction, servers must adhere strictly to company safety and security policies, report any unsafe conditions, and complete necessary training. Personal appearance and professionalism are mandatory, and associates are expected to protect company assets and maintain confidentiality. The position requires physical endurance, such as standing or walking for extended periods and safely handling objects up to certain weights. The pay rate for this position is $17.50 per hour, and employees are eligible for tips.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
  • At least 1 year of related work experience
  • Ability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods
  • Ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull objects weighing up to 25 pounds alone and over 50 pounds with assistance
  • Ability to grasp, turn, and manipulate objects requiring fine motor skills
  • Ability to move over uneven or slippery surfaces
  • Ability to reach overhead and below knees including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
  • At least 1 year of related work experience
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally
  • Strong teamwork and guest service skills
  • Ability to follow safety and security policies
  • Experience with point of sale systems preferred
  • No supervisory experience required

Job Duties

  • Serve food courses and alcoholic beverages to guests
  • Set tables according to type of event and service standards
  • Answer questions on menu selections
  • Communicate with kitchen regarding menu questions, wait times, re-cook orders, and product availability
  • Record transactions in MICROS system at time of order
  • Check in with guests to ensure satisfaction with food and beverages
