Job Description

The hiring establishment is a well-regarded dining services company specializing in offering high-quality food and beverage experiences within a community or commercial setting. This company values excellence in customer service and adheres strictly to health and safety regulations to ensure a safe, pleasant dining environment for its residents and guests. Known for its commitment to maintaining sanitary conditions and providing attentive service, the company operates in a bustling kitchen and dining room setting where teamwork and professionalism are paramount. The role being offered is that of a Dining Room Server, an essential position that plays a key part in the customer dining experience by assisting residents respectfully and efficiently throughout their meal. This is typically a full-time position with competitive hourly wages, designed for individuals who are enthusiastic about food service and dedicated to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and service protocol.

The Dining Room Server's primary responsibility is to graciously assist residents as they enter the dining room, help them with seating arrangements, and guide them through menu selections with a friendly and respectful demeanor. The role involves initiating the serving process for all entrees, encompassing beverage service, salads, soups, main courses, desserts, and concluding with the last round of beverages. This position requires the server to be vigilant about clearing tables promptly throughout the meal to maintain cleanliness and order, as well as resetting dining areas efficiently once meal service concludes. The server is also expected to assist in general cleanup activities, including washing dishes, sweeping, mopping, dusting, and caring for indoor plants, ensuring the dining area remains inviting and hygienic at all times.

Further responsibilities include helping with food preparation when necessary and monitoring food and supply levels, reporting shortages to the Dining Services Director to maintain seamless service. Strict adherence to cleaning schedules, sanitation checklists, and hygiene guidelines is critical to this role, especially regarding infection control. The Dining Room Server will also be expected to follow all dining services policies as outlined in the training manual, participate in mandatory meetings led by the Executive Director, and uphold the confidentiality of residents, employees, and company information. Knowledge and preparedness for fire and disaster plans are essential components of the job to ensure safety in emergency situations.

Candidates for this role should be physically capable of standing for long periods, walking frequently, lifting items of various weights, and performing repetitive tasks with attention to detail despite potential distractions. The work environment involves exposure to extreme temperatures, potentially hazardous equipment, and cleaning chemicals, with the possibility of requiring the use of Personal Protective Equipment such as gloves, masks, and gowns to ensure safety. Overall, this position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals seeking a dynamic and supportive workplace with opportunities to engage directly with residents and contribute to their dining experience.
