Job Description
Marriott Hotels, a global leader in the hospitality industry, is proud to offer a dynamic and enriching work environment that fosters growth, diversity, and exceptional service. With a portfolio of renowned brands including JW Marriott, Marriott International is synonymous with world-class hospitality, luxury, and innovation throughout the globe. Operating a network of over 100 stunning hotels in major cities and premium resort locations, Marriott Hotels is dedicated to delivering memorable experiences to guests through exceptional service and a commitment to excellence. The company emphasizes inclusivity, diversity, and equal opportunity, creating a welcoming workspace for all employees and promoting a culture where every team member's uniqueness and talents are celebrated. Marriott is also devoted to providing a supportive environment that enhances employee well-being and career growth, offering a broad range of benefits tailored to personal and professional development needs.
The role at hand is a Food and Beverage Service Expert position within JW Marriott's Bethesda location, part of Marriott's luxury hotel line. This part-time, non-management role offers an hourly pay ranging from $11.10 to $11.94 and is tip eligible, with training and paid time off paid at rates between $22.20 and $23.88 per hour. The position revolves around creating memorable and unique dining experiences for guests, shifting the focus beyond just serving food to delivering comprehensive service that enhances the guest's overall experience. The role involves taking initiative to offer attentive and personalized service, including table setup, communicating with the kitchen staff, engaging with and serving guests, and maintaining cleanliness in work and storage areas.
This position demands a commitment to safety, quality, professionalism, and guest satisfaction. Food and Beverage Service Experts are active throughout their shifts, frequently standing, walking, and navigating uneven or slippery surfaces. They perform physical tasks such as lifting, pushing, and carrying items under 50 pounds, reaching high places, bending, twisting, stretching, and stooping to fulfill their duties effectively. Following company guidelines and maintaining professional appearance and communication are vital to success. Marriott Hotels greatly values diversity and is committed to a workplace free of discrimination based on disability, veteran status, or other legally protected characteristics.
Joining Marriott Hotels means becoming part of a global hospitality family that nurtures talent, celebrates cultural fusion, and offers numerous opportunities for training, development, and career advancement. JW Marriott, in particular, is known for its exceptional employee care philosophy known as The JW Treatment™, which prioritizes employee happiness as essential to guest satisfaction. By becoming a Food and Beverage Service Expert at JW Marriott Bethesda, you will not only grow professionally in an inclusive luxury environment but also contribute to a legacy of distinguished service and hospitality that spans decades. This is a chance to be part of an inspiring community where personal and professional aspirations are supported, and remarkable guest experiences are created every day.
