The role of Food and Beverage Server at JW Marriott Baltimore is a non-management, full-time position, compensated at an hourly wage of $9.25 with eligibility to receive tips. This position is integral to the seamless dining experience of guests, requiring staff to deliver food courses and alcoholic beverages with professionalism and attentiveness. Servers are responsible for setting tables according to event and service standards, effectively communicating guest preferences and dietary requirements to the kitchen, and ensuring guest satisfaction throughout their meal.

The Food and Beverage Server is expected to maintain cleanliness and organization in their work areas, handle transactions accurately through the MICROS system, and complete closing duties meticulously. They follow strict company and safety policies, report any accidents or unsafe conditions, and participate in safety training to uphold a safe working environment. The role demands physical stamina to stand, walk, and lift objects throughout the shift, as well as strong interpersonal skills to welcome, anticipate needs, and interact respectfully with guests and team members.

Job Duties

  • Serve food courses and alcoholic beverages to guests
  • set tables according to type of event and service standards
  • answer questions on menu selections
  • communicate with kitchen regarding menu questions, length of wait, re-cook orders, and product availability
  • communicate additional meal requirements, allergies, dietary needs, and special requests to kitchen
  • record transactions in MICROS system at time of order
  • check in with guests to ensure satisfaction with each food course and/or beverages
  • maintain cleanliness of work areas, china, glass, etc. throughout the day
  • complete closing duties including restocking items and turning off lights
  • present accurate check to guest and process payment
