Founded with a vision to share America’s story through river and coastal journeys, American Cruise Lines has set itself apart by focusing on intimate shipboard services, diverse itineraries crossing over 35 states, and maintaining a strong dedication to safety, hospitality, and environmental stewardship. The company emphasizes its core values of optimism, commitment, patriotism, and merit which drive its culture and service standards, making it a beloved leader in the small ship cruise industry.

The role of Server aboard American Cruise Lines during the 2026 cruising season is a vital position within the shipboard hotel and restaurant team. This temporary position lasts up to 28 weeks, during which staff members provide exceptional hospitality and help create memorable dining experiences for guests. Servers are responsible for presenting a polished and professional image, efficiently managing dining setups and breakdowns for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and cocktail hours. They also cater to culinary requests, recommend menu and wine selections, and ensure that every dish served meets the company’s high standards for presentation and quality.

This position offers an exciting introduction to the cruise industry and hospitality career path. It provides an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about customer service and team collaboration to gain valuable experience in a dynamic environment. All major living expenses such as travel, room and board, uniforms, and training are covered, making it a financially rewarding role with wages ranging from $1,000 to $1,400 per week plus bonuses. The role calls for working seven days per week while onboard, contributing actively to both the daily operations and the overall guest experience. Candidates need to be comfortable working on a moving vessel, stand for long periods, and perform physically demanding tasks such as lifting, bending, and climbing. Successful servers are those who work well under pressure, maintain composure, and embrace a positive attitude while fostering connections with guests and crew alike. This is a full-time, nonexempt position that embodies the spirit of teamwork and dedication that American Cruise Lines values in all its employees.
