The Server position at Sunrise of New Dorp involves delivering exceptional meal services to residents and guests while fostering a hospitable dining experience. This role is essential in ensuring that meal times are enjoyable, efficient, and tailored to meet the unique needs of each resident. The Server will be responsible for taking and delivering food orders accurately and promptly, resetting and bussing tables, maintaining the dining environment's cleanliness, and assisting with side work tasks. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- One year job-related experience preferred
- Ability to cultivate a warm and hospitable environment
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to handle multiple priorities
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
- Completion of CPR and First Aid certificates may be required
- ServSafe Food Handler Card may be required
- Local Health Department Food Handler Card may be required
- Adherence to occupational health and safety requirements
- Ability to perform physical duties such as bussing tables and cleaning
- Successful completion of pre-employment screenings and health evaluations
- Covid 19 and Influenza vaccination if mandated by law

- Local Health Department Food Handler Card preferred
Job Duties
- Cultivate a warm and hospitable environment by making personal connections with residents and guests and treating all with professionalism and respect
- Take and deliver food orders in a timely manner
- Bus and reset tables per company standards
- Clean and maintain the dining room and bistro to the highest standards per company guidelines
- Complete required side work as assigned
- Attend pre-meal meeting to gain knowledge of the meal
- Know menu items and provide general descriptions
- Assist residents with menu selections and respond professionally to questions about menu items
- Use Sunrise systems per guidelines for order taking and meal delivery to ensure accuracy
- Practice safe food handling procedures at all times in accordance with laws, regulations, and Sunrise policies
- Comply with occupational health and safety requirements and Risk Management programs and policies
- Perform other dining services duties including dishwashing, light janitorial tasks, preparing and serving light meals, assisting with food preparation and plating
- Participate and commit to working toward team goals
- Demonstrate the Team Member Credo in daily interactions
- Commit to serving residents and guests through the Principles of Service
- Contribute to overall engagement programs for residents and team members
- Attend regular meetings as directed
- Maintain compliance in assigned required training
- Perform other duties as assigned
