The Part-Time Cafe Server role at Meriwether Godsey is an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about hospitality and dedicated to excellence in customer service. As a server, you will play a critical role in not only serving food and beverages but also ensuring each guest’s experience is memorable and enjoyable.
Working part-time from Tuesday to Saturday between 4 pm and 10:30 pm, the Cafe Server will be compensated at $15.00 per hour plus tips, along with complimentary meals provided during shifts. The role encompasses greeting guests courteously, answering their questions, and making informed suggestions regarding the menu. Servers will also be responsible for efficiently relaying orders to the service bar and kitchen using a computerized point-of-sale system, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Beyond direct service, Cafe Servers will handle essential duties such as bussing tables, processing cash and credit card transactions, maintaining cleanliness and safety standards, and resetting dining areas to prepare for new arrivals. This role also requires adherence to responsible alcohol service guidelines, including verifying legal age and serving guests responsibly. Candidates must be knowledgeable about state and local laws governing alcoholic beverage sales and hold or be willing to obtain ServSafe or RSVP certification within six months of employment.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- One or more years of related work experience preferred
- Familiarity with state and local laws regarding the sale of alcoholic beverages
- Must be of legal age to serve alcoholic beverages
- ServSafe and or RSVP certification or ability to obtain within 6 months of employment
- Prior experience busing tables catering or bartending experience within a restaurant hotel or conference center operation
- Exceptional customer service skills strong team player
- Excellent communication and good organizational skills
- Ability to stand move about for long periods of time and lift 30 lbs
- Ability to handle high-volume customers
- Reliable transportation
- Ability to work nights and weekends on an on-call basis as needed

Job Duties
- Wow guests and provide an exceptional dining experience
- Courteously greet guests answer questions and make suggestions regarding food drinks and service
- Relay orders to the service bar and kitchen via the point-of-sale computerized register system
- Bus tables remove dishes and utensils at the end of service
- Handle cash and credit card transactions
- Perform cleaning tasks and breakdown of service maintain high standards of safety and cleanliness
- Reset dining areas to ensure readiness for incoming guests
- Comply with responsible alcohol service guidelines including serving guests responsibly
