This role is for a Food and Beverage Server at the JW Marriott located at 301 S Market St, San Jose, California. The position is part-time, non-management, and offers a pay rate of $18.30 per hour with eligibility for tips, reflecting the value placed on quality service and guest satisfaction. The server will be responsible for delivering exemplary dining experiences by serving food and alcoholic beverages, answering guest queries about menu selections, and ensuring all interactions meet the high standards of the Marriott brand. Responsibilities include setting tables based on event type and service standards, communicating effectively with kitchen staff about orders and special dietary needs, and handling transactions accurately via the MICROS point-of-sale system. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- minimum 1 year related work experience in food and beverage service
- no supervisory experience required
- physical capability to stand and walk for long periods
- ability to lift and carry objects up to 25 pounds unaided and heavier with assistance
- willingness to follow safety and security policies
- excellent communication skills
- availability to work part-time
- basic computer skills for POS system
- ability to maintain professional appearance and confidentiality
