Job Description
Walk-On's Sports Bistreaux is a dynamic and nationally recognized restaurant brand rooted deeply in the spirit of heart, hustle, and the underdog story. Founded in Baton Rouge, Louisiana by two LSU walk-on basketball players, Walk-On's grew from humble beginnings into a thriving chain known for its scratch-made dishes with a distinctive Louisiana flair and an electric game-day atmosphere. The restaurant culture prioritizes teamwork, hospitality, passion, growth, and community, ensuring every team member is valued from the kitchen staff to management. Walk-On's is dedicated to creating an inclusive and welcoming environment where every employee feels like part of the family. Joining Walk-On's means becoming a part of a winning culture that celebrates successes, faces challenges collectively, and fosters personal and professional development through opportunities for growth and advancement.
The Server role at Walk-On's Sports Bistreaux is an essential position that brings energy, enthusiasm, and championship-level service to the front of the house. This part-time, non-exempt role reports directly to the Manager on Duty and represents the first point of contact for guests, playing a key role in delivering memorable dining experiences. Servers at Walk-On's are expected to greet guests warmly, take accurate orders, suggest menu items, and provide friendly, prompt service. Additionally, this role involves running food, clearing tables, managing takeout orders efficiently, and maintaining clean dining areas. Servers must adhere to all alcohol service laws and company policies, including maintaining necessary state bar cards. They operate the point-of-sale system, handle payments and cash accurately, and assist with both the restaurant setup and breakdown. The position requires an individual who is a proactive team player, capable of multitasking and remaining composed under pressure, all while maintaining a positive and upbeat attitude.
This opportunity is ideal for individuals seeking part-time hours that accommodate other commitments, such as students or those balancing personal responsibilities. Walk-On's offers a unique, fast-paced gameday environment where no two shifts are the same and camaraderie and team spirit thrive. Former restaurant experience is preferred but not a requirement, as Walk-On’s provides comprehensive training to help teammates succeed. Candidates must be at least 18 years old and meet all state requirements for alcohol service. Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, and carry trays weighing up to 25 pounds is essential for this role. Walk-On's emphasizes strong communication skills, a friendly demeanor, and a customer-focused mindset to ensure each guest leaves with a positive impression.
Overall, the Server position at Walk-On's Sports Bistreaux is more than just a job; it’s a chance to be part of a thriving team environment that fosters personal growth, encourages teamwork, and provides an engaging workplace with flexible hours. The brand’s commitment to exceptional hospitality and community support creates a rewarding experience for employees who are motivated to deliver excellence and pride themselves on their contributions to a championship-level guest service.
