Job Description
Marriott International is a globally recognized leader in the hospitality industry, renowned for its commitment to delivering exceptional guest experiences across a diverse portfolio of brands. One of its distinguished brands, JW Marriott, represents luxury and elegance with over 100 stunning properties in major gateway cities and exclusive resort destinations worldwide. JW Marriott emphasizes a philosophy that prioritizes its associates, fostering a supportive and enriching work environment where employees are empowered to excel and grow both professionally and personally. Marriott International is committed to creating an inclusive workplace that values diversity and promotes equal employment opportunities regardless of background or circumstance.
Located at 515 Mason St, San Francisco, California, JW Marriott is currently seeking part-time Food and Beverage team members to contribute to the legacy of wonderful hospitality. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about the culinary and service aspects of hospitality and who strive to provide a memorable dining experience for guests. The position offers an hourly wage of $19.69, inclusive of tips, and is categorized as non-management, which suits candidates seeking roles focused on guest interaction and service delivery rather than supervisory responsibilities.
The Food and Beverage role involves serving food courses and alcoholic beverages to guests while ensuring that tables are set according to the event type and Marriott's service standards. Team members engage directly with guests, answering their questions about the menu, communicating dietary needs, allergies, and special requests to the kitchen staff, and ensuring timely and accurate meal delivery. Furthermore, they are responsible for maintaining cleanliness in the dining area and supporting closing duties such as restocking and securing the workspace.
Using the MICROS system, team members record transactions and facilitate payment processing, ensuring accuracy and efficiency. These employees are vital in maintaining the smooth operation of dining events and play a significant role in guest satisfaction by conducting check-ins and addressing any concerns during the meal service.
Safety and professionalism are emphasized, with a set of policies and procedures aimed at ensuring the well-being of both staff and guests. The role requires physical stamina as team members perform various physical tasks including moving and lifting items, standing or walking for extended periods, and maneuvering in diverse environments such as on stairs or slippery surfaces.
Marriott International strives to foster a team-oriented culture where associates are encouraged to develop positive working relationships, support one another, and collaboratively achieve common goals. Effective communication, professionalism, and adherence to quality standards are paramount to success in this role.
For individuals motivated to start or continue a career in hospitality, this part-time Food and Beverage service position with JW Marriott offers an opportunity to be part of a prestigious brand that values its people and their unique contributions. Those who join the team embark on a journey of continuous learning, engagement, and service excellence—all while working in a vibrant, luxury setting that invites guests and associates alike to "be," "begin," "belong," and "become."
