Job Description
Renaissance Hotels, a proud member of Marriott International, invites you to become a part of a global and diverse family dedicated to delivering exceptional guest experiences. As a renowned brand in the hospitality industry, Renaissance Hotels blends the rich culture, talent, and heritage of its associates to create unique experiences that celebrate the spirit and essence of the local neighborhoods their guests explore. Located at 1 W Wacker Dr, Chicago, Illinois, Renaissance Hotels is a full-service hotel that seeks to engage guests by offering a memorable dining experience infused with regional charm and attentive service.
The role available is for a Food and Beverage team member working full-time, primarily during the evening shift, with preferred availability on weekends and holidays. This non-management position offers an hourly wage of $12.93 with eligibility for tips and additional training pay at $19.40 per hour during the training and paid time off periods. This position is not remote, requiring presence onsite to deliver an outstanding level of service in an energetic and guest-focused environment.
In this role, you will play a crucial part in enhancing the dining experience for guests at the hotel’s restaurants and food service areas. Your responsibilities will include warmly welcoming guests, promptly attending to tables, serving food and beverages efficiently, and providing knowledgeable recommendations regarding the menu. Your ability to share insights about dishes and accommodate special requests will help ensure each guest feels valued and cared for. The role also involves processing transactions accurately using the MICROS POS system, maintaining cleanliness of tables, re-stocking supplies, and completing closing duties.
Successful candidates will exhibit excellent communication skills, a positive attitude, and a strong team-oriented approach. Previous experience as a server is highly advantageous but not mandatory, as comprehensive training and certification will be provided before employment. Physical requirements include the ability to lift up to 25 pounds and stand, walk, or sit for extended periods. Attention to professional appearance and adherence to uniform standards are essential.
Joining Renaissance Hotels means more than just a job; it is an opportunity to grow personally and professionally within a supportive community. Employees receive various benefits including hotel room discounts, savings on gift shop items, food and beverage discounts, opportunities for continuous development and learning, wellness programs, and recognition programs. The hotel fosters a motivating management style and a cooperative team environment to help you flourish.
The brand is committed to equal opportunity employment, valuing diversity and inclusivity in its workforce. Renaissance Hotels aims to create a welcoming and accessible workplace for all, with strong policies against discrimination. By joining this company, you can expect to be part of a passionate team dedicated to improving guest experiences and making travel a memorable adventure. This role offers a gateway to explore diverse career paths within Marriott International's expansive portfolio, where your best work can make a difference and shape your career trajectory.
