The Server role at Blue 32 is a dynamic and customer-focused position that plays a critical part in delivering exceptional dining experiences. Servers are the face of the establishment, greeting guests with warmth and professionalism, acquainting them with the menu offerings, and ensuring each visit is enjoyable. This role requires excellent interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting. Servers take accurate food and beverage orders, offering recommendations and upselling special items to enhance guest satisfaction.
In addition to taking and delivering orders, servers handle payments and cash transactions accurately while maintaining cleanliness and organization of dining and service areas. - High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- willingness to learn and a positive attitude
- availability to work flexible shifts including evenings, weekends, and major sporting events
- ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- basic math skills
- ability to carry up to 25 pounds safely
- reliable punctuality
- previous customer service or server experience a plus
Job Qualifications
- Previous customer service or server experience preferred but not required
- excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- friendly, outgoing presence
- availability to work evenings, weekends, and major sporting events
- basic math skills for handling payments and making change
- experience with POS systems is a plus
- ability to stand and walk for long periods and lift or carry up to 25 pounds safely
- experience in a high-volume or sports bar/restaurant environment
- familiarity with modern POS systems and mobile ordering platforms
- alcohol service certification or willingness to obtain required training
- bilingual skills (Spanish/English) are a plus for serving our diverse guest base
Job Duties
- Greet and seat guests promptly with a friendly, professional demeanor and an awareness of ongoing events and specials
- take accurate food and beverage orders, make menu recommendations, and upsell appropriately to enhance the guest experience
- deliver food and beverages in a timely manner while ensuring presentation and quality meet Blue 32 standards
- process guest payments, handle cash and POS transactions accurately, and close checks efficiently
- maintain clean, organized service stations and dining areas
- clear and reset tables quickly between guests
- communicate effectively with kitchen and bar staff to coordinate orders and resolve issues
- handle guest questions and concerns professionally, escalating to management when needed to ensure satisfaction
