Job Description
The Server role on American Cruise Lines' vessels is a temporary position for the 2026 cruising season lasting up to 28 weeks. Servers are essential team members within the shipboard hotel and restaurant, responsible for delivering an elegant and memorable dining experience to guests. They embody the brand’s core values while providing outstanding hospitality, from greeting guests and assisting with seating arrangements to presenting menus, recommending courses and wines, and catering to all culinary requests efficiently. Servers play a vital role in enhancing guest satisfaction by ensuring meals and beverages are served with exceptional care and presentation. Beyond routine restaurant duties, Servers may also assist with greeting guests upon embarkation, serve afternoon teas and snacks, and support evening entertainment events.
This role demands adherence to strict grooming standards, the ability to work under pressure, maintain composure, and a positive attitude. It offers wages ranging from $1,000 to $1,400 per week plus bonuses, with all major living expenses—including travel, room and board, uniforms, and training—covered. This structure provides a unique opportunity for employees to save their earnings while traveling across America, creating lifelong connections with crew and guests alike. The temporary, full-time role requires a dedication to safety, including emergency and safety training essential for shipboard operations. The work schedule involves seven days per week while onboard with shifts that can last up to 12 hours. The position is an excellent introduction to the cruise and hospitality industry and a stepping-stone toward potential advancement within the company, although such progression is not guaranteed. Applicants must be American citizens or Green Card holders, at least 18 years old, able to pass a pre-employment drug test, abide by alcohol consumption policies, and meet physical demands such as standing entire shifts and lifting heavy objects. This opportunity invites individuals eager to contribute to America’s Leading Small Ship Cruise Line while enjoying the adventure of traveling the country.
