Job Description
Atlas Restaurant Group is a prominent and rapidly growing restaurant company based in Baltimore. Known for its commitment to excellence and a strong connection to the local community, Atlas Restaurant Group operates a variety of dining establishments that emphasize quality food, exceptional service, and genuine hospitality. The group prides itself on fostering a work environment where employees can thrive, grow, and contribute meaningfully to its success. With a focus on teamwork, innovation, and customer satisfaction, Atlas Restaurant Group continues to expand its presence, creating valuable opportunities for individuals passionate about the restaurant industry.
The Server role at Atlas Restaurant Group is pivotal to delivering an exceptional dining experience to guests. This position requires a dedicated professional who not only understands the intricacies of restaurant service but also demonstrates genuine hospitality, efficiency, and teamwork. A server is the primary point of contact for guests during their visit and is responsible for making their dining experience memorable by being attentive, knowledgeable, and responsive to guest needs. The server must be able to multitask in a fast-paced environment, maintain a clean and organized workspace, and possess strong communication skills to effectively relay orders to the kitchen and collaborate with team members.
This role is designed for individuals with at least two years of experience in the restaurant industry and a high school diploma or equivalent. Those who have additional knowledge and enthusiasm for tableside service, wine, and craft cocktails will find this position rewarding. Servers must be at least 18 years old to serve alcohol in compliance with state regulations, and depending on local laws, may require a food handler’s certification.
Compensation varies by state, with hourly wages plus tips, reflecting local minimum requirements. For example, in Maryland, the role pays $3.63 per hour plus tips, and in Florida, $9.98 per hour plus tips. Part-time and full-time employment options are available, with full-time employees receiving comprehensive benefits such as health, dental and vision insurance, 401k contributions, company-paid life and AD&D insurance, learning and development programs, career advancement opportunities, pet insurance, and discounts at Atlas properties.
The work environment demands physical agility, the ability to stand and walk for extended periods, and the capacity to lift items up to 50 pounds occasionally. Servers must exhibit strong mathematical skills for handling transactions accurately, and proficiency in systems such as Toast Point-of-Sale (POS) and Restaurant365 is essential for managing orders and payments effectively.
Beyond technical skills, the role places a high value on interpersonal abilities including personal accountability, teamwork, emotional intelligence, and the ability to both give and receive constructive feedback constructively. Servers must maintain professionalism even under pressure and contribute positively to the work atmosphere.
Atlas Restaurant Group welcomes candidates eager to join a dynamic team where their contributions directly enhance the guest experience and drive the company’s growth. With its supportive leadership and commitment to employee development, this server position offers a meaningful career path in a thriving restaurant environment.
