The Server role at MBK Senior Living is vital to creating enjoyable dining experiences for residents. This role is responsible for providing excellent customer service, maintaining a clean and sanitary dining environment, and ensuring that residents' dietary needs are met. The position is designed for individuals who appreciate working in a people-centered, team-oriented atmosphere and who take pride in delivering exceptional hospitality. Servers at MBK Senior Living engage with residents, family members, and guests in a friendly and professional manner, ensuring every meal service reflects the company's high standards and values.

Servers play a critical part in assisting residents with menu selections, taking food orders, and serving meals efficiently and courteously. They also ensure that residents are greeted and seated promptly, with special attention given to new residents to help them feel comfortable and welcomed. Maintaining compliance with health and safety standards is paramount in this role, as is cooperation with other kitchen and dining services to deliver a seamless dining experience. Physical stamina and mobility are required, as the job involves prolonged standing, walking, lifting, bending, and other physical activities.

This position offers a variable schedule provided 30 days in advance, with hourly compensation ranging from $16.90 to $17.90. Job Requirements

  • Exposure to restaurant operations or the ability to learn
  • Age over 18 years or have proper work permit and authorization documentation
  • Background clearances as required by government regulations
  • Complete a health screening and provide negative TB test results within the last 6 months or within 7 days of employment
  • Basic counting skills as required by the position
  • Good communication skills including the ability to speak, write, understand, and read English
  • Ability to operate standard serving equipment
  • Must be mindful regarding the use of resources and supplies, minimizing waste and misuse when possible
  • Ability to deal tactfully and professionally at all times with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, vendors, and the general public
  • Complete the dining room training course with CCG
  • Must meet and maintain all state specific regulatory requirements

Job Qualifications

  • Good communication skills including the ability to speak, write, understand, and read English
  • Ability to operate standard serving equipment such as salad bar cart, trays, heating cart
  • Ability to deal tactfully and professionally at all times with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, vendors, and the general public
  • Complete the dining room training course with CCG
  • Must meet and maintain all state specific regulatory requirements

Job Duties

  • Take written food orders and serve meals to residents, family members and visitors in a professional, efficient and courteous manner
  • Assist residents with meal/menu selections as necessary or requested
  • Use proper etiquette and manners while waiting tables courteously and professionally
  • Review residents dietary needs as outlined by Supervisor
  • Track resident attendance at meals and provide that information in a timely manner to the appropriate person
  • Ensure that all residents are greeted and seated properly, making extra efforts to integrate new residents making them feel welcome and comfortable
  • Ensure a clean sanitary dining area and comply with all policies and procedures regarding the proper handling and serving of food
  • Display tact and friendliness when dealing with residents, team members, and guests
  • Aid in community marketing effort through positive interactions, dress and behavior
  • Serve, clean, reset tables, return dishes to kitchen
  • Other duties as assigned or directed by Supervisors or designee of the Executive Director
  • Clean and set up of all dining and food service areas including stocking of condiments
  • Cooperate and assist with other kitchen and dining services to ensure residents have a positive dining experience
  • Report any safety or equipment issues to Supervisor
