Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- previous experience working as a server in a fast-paced restaurant or entertainment environment required
- valid alcohol and/or food handlers card certification required
- ability to communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing required
- strong interpersonal skills with a friendly and outgoing personality required
- capacity to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a busy work setting required
- willingness to adhere to grooming and appearance standards consistently required
Job Qualifications
- Previous serving experience required
- excellent oral communication skills required
- positive interpersonal skills required
- must speak English fluently and be able to write in basic English
- necessary alcohol and/or food handlers card certification
- good telephone speaking and listening ability
Job Duties
- Prepare room for dining by setting decorations, glasses, placemats, menus, condiments, candles, napkins, service plates and utensils as necessary
- protect establishment and patrons by adhering to sanitation, safety and alcohol beverage control policies
- help patrons select food and beverages by presenting menu, offering cocktails, suggesting courses, explaining chef's specialties, identifying appropriate wines, answering food preparation questions
- stay updated on current menu choices, specialties and menu deviations
- transmit orders to bar and kitchen by recording patrons' choices, identifying special dietary needs and special requests
- keep kitchen staff informed by noting timing of meal progression
- serve orders by picking up and delivering patrons' choices from bar and kitchen, deliver accompaniments and condiments
- respond to additional patron requirements by inquiring needs and observing dining process
- maintain table setting by removing completed courses, replenishing utensils, refilling water glasses, being alert to spills or other needs
- properly open and pour wine at tableside
- conclude dining experience by acknowledging choice of restaurant and inviting patrons to return
- obtain revenues by totaling charges, issuing bills, accepting payments, delivering bills and payments to host, returning change or credit card and signature slip
- contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
- provide welcoming phone greeting and follow guest ordering procedures
- convey menu information over the phone and give accurate delivery time estimates
- perform basic cleaning tasks as needed
- fill in for absent staff as needed
- assist with special events as needed
- adhere to grooming and appearance standards consistently
- promptly address customer service issues and refer customers to management when necessary
