The Server position plays a critical role in ensuring customers receive timely and courteous service throughout their visit. This role involves serving food and beverages in the dining room while maintaining high standards of customer satisfaction. Serving responsibly, including adherence to all state and local alcohol service regulations, is paramount. The server will actively promote menu items through effective salesmanship and suggestive selling techniques to enhance the dining experience and contribute to business growth. The position demands the ability to handle multiple tables efficiently, accurately process orders either manually or digitally using point-of-sale systems, and perform money transactions correctly. Additionally, the server will support other front-of-house and back-of-house functions, including clearing tables, assisting with salad and dessert preparation, and executing closing duties such as roll-ups and restocking. Physical demands are inherent in this role, with requirements to stand and walk extensively, carry trays weighing up to 40 pounds frequently during shifts, and manage other physical tasks associated with the upkeep and cleanliness of dining areas. A successful candidate must be at least 18 years old or meet state-specific guidelines to serve alcohol. Job Duties
- Work in a team environment and communicate with other employees and guests
- Greet customers, serve food and beverage in a courteous and timely manner, create new business and avoid customer complaints
- Responsible alcohol service adhering to state and local regulations
- Provide great salesmanship thru menu presentation and suggestive selling
- Serve number of tables as determined by management
- Write or punch in orders correctly and in timely fashion to bar and kitchen staff
- Use a computer for settling guest checks, to-go orders and timekeeping purposes
- Perform correct money transactions
- Clear tables of dishes, linens, china, silverware and glassware
- Complete roll-ups
- Prep desserts and salads as assigned by management
- Other functions assigned by management such as take out linen, trash, stocking, checking restrooms, bus tubs, refill ice, wash glassware, assist other FOH and HOH staff members
