The company is currently seeking a knowledgeable, experienced, and service-oriented Bartender to join their dynamic team. This is a full-service, high-volume environment where the bartender plays an essential role in providing an exceptional guest experience. The ideal candidate will have at least one year of previous bartending experience in a similar setting and possess the ability to multitask effectively while maintaining a friendly and gracious attitude. Bartenders at Il Fornaio are not only responsible for making drinks but also for creating a welcoming atmosphere that encourages guest interaction and satisfaction.

The role requires expertise in spirits, cocktails, wine, and beer along with a strong knowledge of the full menu to make guest recommendations confidently. Bartenders must ensure that drinks and food are served correctly and efficiently, manage cash and close out checks accurately, and strictly adhere to food safety and sanitation guidelines. Team collaboration and clear, respectful communication are critical to success in this position, alongside a flexible work schedule that includes weekend availability. Bartenders will also be expected to prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks according to Il Fornaio’s standardized recipes, focusing on quality and guest satisfaction at every stage.

Furthermore, this role necessitates obtaining required certifications such as the Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) Certificate within 60 days of hire in California locations and a Foodhandler Card within 30 days from hire. Job Duties

  • Make guest recommendations through knowledge of spirits, cocktails, wine, beer and a la carte food service
  • Serve full menu and bar including wine and specialty cocktails
  • Deliver drinks and food correctly and efficiently
  • Close out checks and reconcile cash in a timely fashion
  • Adhere to food safety and sanitation guidelines while maintaining a positive teamwork attitude
  • Communicate clearly, professionally, and respectfully
  • Monitor guest satisfaction
  • Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks consistent with Il Fornaio standard drink recipes
