Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Prior experience in customer service or hospitality preferred
  • Must be able to stand and move for extended periods
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively
  • Basic math skills necessary
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds safely
  • Must be of legal age to serve alcohol and comply with local regulations

Job Qualifications

  • Be able to communicate and understand the predominant language(s) of our guests
  • Have basic knowledge of dining room and service procedures and functions
  • Possess basic math skills and ability to handle money and operate a point-of-sale system
  • Be able to work standing up for long periods (up to 5 hours)
  • Be able to safely lift and maneuver trays weighing up to 30 pounds

Job Duties

  • Welcome and greet guests
  • Make all guests feel comfortable and let them know you’re there to personally take care of them
  • Always serve customers in a friendly and attentive manner
  • Inform guests of specials and menu changes
  • Enhance every guest’s dining experience by recommending cocktails, wine, beer, appetizers, salads, entrees, desserts, after-dinner cocktails and espresso drinks
  • Answer questions about food, beverages and other restaurant functions and services
  • Take food and beverage orders from guests and enter orders in the point-of-sale system
  • Deliver food and beverages from kitchen and bar to guests in a timely manner
  • Perform side work at the start and end of each shift as required by service station assignment
  • Maintain clean service areas and ensure all service areas are stocked throughout the shift
  • Monitor and observe guests’ dining experience
  • Ensure guests are satisfied and respond promptly to any requests
  • Prepare final bill, present check to guest, accept payment and process credit card charges or make change
  • Practice teamwork
  • assist guests outside of your section and other employees
  • Be ready and willing to assist bussers with clearing and resetting tables
  • Thank guests for their visit and invite them to return
  • Be available to fill in as needed to ensure smooth and efficient restaurant operation
  • Attend scheduled meetings
  • Serve alcohol responsibly
