Job Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Prior experience in customer service or hospitality preferred
Must be able to stand and move for extended periods
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively
Basic math skills necessary
Ability to lift up to 30 pounds safely
Must be of legal age to serve alcohol and comply with local regulations

Job Qualifications

Be able to communicate and understand the predominant language(s) of our guests
Have basic knowledge of dining room and service procedures and functions
Possess basic math skills and ability to handle money and operate a point-of-sale system
Be able to work standing up for long periods (up to 5 hours)
Be able to safely lift and maneuver trays weighing up to 30 pounds

Job Duties

Welcome and greet guests
Make all guests feel comfortable and let them know you’re there to personally take care of them
Always serve customers in a friendly and attentive manner
Inform guests of specials and menu changes
Enhance every guest’s dining experience by recommending cocktails, wine, beer, appetizers, salads, entrees, desserts, after-dinner cocktails and espresso drinks
Answer questions about food, beverages and other restaurant functions and services
Take food and beverage orders from guests and enter orders in the point-of-sale system
Deliver food and beverages from kitchen and bar to guests in a timely manner
Perform side work at the start and end of each shift as required by service station assignment
Maintain clean service areas and ensure all service areas are stocked throughout the shift
Monitor and observe guests’ dining experience
Ensure guests are satisfied and respond promptly to any requests
Prepare final bill, present check to guest, accept payment and process credit card charges or make change
Practice teamwork
assist guests outside of your section and other employees
Be ready and willing to assist bussers with clearing and resetting tables
Thank guests for their visit and invite them to return
Be available to fill in as needed to ensure smooth and efficient restaurant operation
Attend scheduled meetings
Serve alcohol responsibly
