The server role at Bristol Bar and Grill is integral to maintaining the high standards of hospitality and customer satisfaction the restaurant is known for. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Prior experience in customer service or hospitality preferred
- Must be able to stand and move for extended periods
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively
- Basic math skills necessary
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds safely
- Must be of legal age to serve alcohol and comply with local regulations
Job Qualifications
- Be able to communicate and understand the predominant language(s) of our guests
- Have basic knowledge of dining room and service procedures and functions
- Possess basic math skills and ability to handle money and operate a point-of-sale system
- Be able to work standing up for long periods (up to 5 hours)
- Be able to safely lift and maneuver trays weighing up to 30 pounds
Job Duties
- Welcome and greet guests
- Make all guests feel comfortable and let them know you’re there to personally take care of them
- Always serve customers in a friendly and attentive manner
- Inform guests of specials and menu changes
- Enhance every guest’s dining experience by recommending cocktails, wine, beer, appetizers, salads, entrees, desserts, after-dinner cocktails and espresso drinks
- Answer questions about food, beverages and other restaurant functions and services
- Take food and beverage orders from guests and enter orders in the point-of-sale system
- Deliver food and beverages from kitchen and bar to guests in a timely manner
- Perform side work at the start and end of each shift as required by service station assignment
- Maintain clean service areas and ensure all service areas are stocked throughout the shift
- Monitor and observe guests’ dining experience
- Ensure guests are satisfied and respond promptly to any requests
- Prepare final bill, present check to guest, accept payment and process credit card charges or make change
- Practice teamwork
- assist guests outside of your section and other employees
- Be ready and willing to assist bussers with clearing and resetting tables
- Thank guests for their visit and invite them to return
- Be available to fill in as needed to ensure smooth and efficient restaurant operation
- Attend scheduled meetings
- Serve alcohol responsibly
