Job Duties

  • Escort guests to their tables when needed
  • Review MVP program with all guests
  • Demonstrate strong MVP program knowledge
  • Review menus and answer questions about menu items
  • Upsell to improve dining experience and raise check average
  • Explain how menu items are prepared and describe ingredients and cooking methods
  • Write guests food orders on order pads and repeat order back
  • Input guests order accurately into POS system
  • Check with guests to ensure satisfaction and address any issues
  • Check guests identification for alcohol consumption age compliance
  • Collect payments from guests
  • Remove dishes and glasses throughout guests visit and after departure
  • Clean and reset tables after guests finish dining
  • Assist host or hostess with answering phones, taking to-go orders, greeting, seating, and thanking guests
  • Perform cleaning duties such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, tidying server station, trash disposal, and bathroom checks
  • Roll silverware and set up food stations or dining areas for next shifts or large parties
  • Stock service areas with supplies
  • Fill salt and pepper shakers and wipe down table tents
  • Ask guests to leave a review
  • Maintain positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers
