We are currently seeking a welcoming, energetic, and efficient Server to join our restaurant team at Hotel Nell. The ideal candidate will have a passion for providing excellent customer service and the ability to create a positive dining experience that exceeds the expectations of our guests. This role is vital in maintaining the hotel's reputation for top-tier hospitality and guest satisfaction. This position offers an hourly rate of $10, plus tips, and includes comprehensive benefits such as subsidized health, dental, and vision insurance, short-term and long-term disability coverage, life insurance, hospital indemnity, accident and critical illness coverage, FSA, a 401k plan with employer match, and paid time off.
The Server will be responsible for engaging with guests throughout their dining experience, ensuring attention to detail and timely service delivery. Duties will include welcoming guests with warm greetings, taking accurate food and beverage orders, and addressing any special requests with professionalism. The successful candidate will maintain an organized and clean dining area, assist in table preparation, and ensure all service standards meet the quality assurance expectations of the Hotel Nell brand. Additionally, competencies in handling guest payments securely, managing reservations, and providing knowledge about menu items and specials are key components of the role. Job Requirements
- One year of prior food and beverage experience preferred
- prior guest relations training
- proper food safety training and certification as described by law
- experience working with POS (Toast, Micros, Aloha, etc.) and reservation software (Toast)
- knowledge of proper food handling
- strong written and verbal communications skills
- positive upbeat attitude and personality
- punctuality and reliable attendance
- ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language
- ability to perform assigned duties with attention to detail, speed, accuracy, follow-through, courtesy, cooperativeness and work with minimum supervision
- willingness to work flexible hours such as mornings, nights, weekends and holidays

Job Duties
- Greet all customers warmly and with appropriate greetings
- adhere to grooming and appearance standards
- prepare dining tables for service, including laying out napkins and utensils and refilling condiments
- take guest food and beverage orders accurately
- possess knowledge of current menu choices, specialties, and menu deviations
- handle table assignments, seating customers, food and drink suggestions, and communicate customer needs to cooks
- ensure a memorable dining experience
- quickly resolve any issues that may arise
- properly open and pour wine tableside
- accurately record revenue and accept cash, credit card, room charges and direct billing payments
- maintain confidentiality of proprietary information and protect company assets
- perform basic cleaning tasks as needed or directed by supervisor
- fill in as needed for absent team members
- assist with special events if needed
- assist customers with disabilities
- thank guests with genuine appreciation
- answer telephone using appropriate etiquette
- develop and maintain positive working relationships with co-workers and others
- comply with quality assurance expectations and standards
