Job Description
Cracker Barrel is a well-established restaurant company that has been welcoming guests since 1969. Known for its unique combination of a restaurant and retail store, Cracker Barrel offers a nostalgic, country-themed dining experience complete with generous hospitality and classic Southern cuisine. With over 70,000 team members nationwide, the company emphasizes creating a warm, inviting atmosphere where guests can gather around delicious meals, find unexpected retail treasures, and enjoy a sense of belonging. The brand takes pride in its roots and goes beyond just serving food; it focuses on creating meaningful moments for guests and team members alike. Cracker Barrel is committed to fostering a culture of respect, inclusion, and opportunity, striving to be a place where every employee feels valued and supported.
The server role at Cracker Barrel is pivotal in delivering exceptional country hospitality that makes every guest feel appreciated and welcomed. Servers are front-line team members responsible for creating a memorable dining experience by attending to guests' needs with care, enthusiasm, and genuine kindness. This role involves much more than just taking orders; it includes anticipating guest needs, managing multiple tables efficiently, offering personal touches like adding an extra lemon to iced tea, and engaging with guests to make them feel special. Cracker Barrel prides itself on a no-tip-sharing policy, meaning servers receive 100% of their own tips, which underscores the company's commitment to recognizing and rewarding individual effort.
This position is perfect for individuals who enjoy working in a team environment, can multitask effectively, learn quickly, and maintain a positive attitude at all times. Notably, no prior restaurant experience is necessary as comprehensive training and support are provided through Cracker Barrel’s industry-leading PAR training program. This ensures that all servers are equipped to succeed and grow within the company. Working at Cracker Barrel means being part of a community that values great work and great pay. Competitive weekly pay with same-day access to earnings, eligibility for health insurance from day one for both full-time and part-time employees, vacation time, and an employee assistance program reflect the company’s focus on employee wellbeing.
Additionally, team members have access to growth opportunities from their first day on the job, including a 401k plan with company matching contributions after 90 days and an Employee Stock Purchase Program. Cracker Barrel cultivates a culture of belonging, offering strong onboarding, training programs, recognition events, and employee gatherings to foster connection and support throughout an employee’s journey. Other perks include a 35% discount on Cracker Barrel food and retail items and exclusive discounts on home, travel, cell phones, and more through the Biscuit Perks program. As an equal opportunity employer, Cracker Barrel is dedicated to providing equal consideration for all applicants regardless of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, genetic information, national origin, age, marital status, medical condition, disability, or any other protected class. Joining Cracker Barrel means joining a company where you not only work but belong, where the moments you make truly matter.
