Job Description

Sheraton New Orleans Hotel, located at 500 Canal Street in the vibrant city of New Orleans, Louisiana, is a distinguished establishment within the hospitality industry. As part of Marriott International, Sheraton Hotels & Resorts offers a world-class environment where diverse cultures, talents, and experiences converge to create memorable guest experiences. Since its inception in 1937, Sheraton has been recognized as a global meeting place, providing guests with welcoming, engaging, and attentive service across more than 400 communities worldwide. By joining Sheraton, employees become part of an international community dedicated to excellence in hospitality and service.

This opportunity is for a part-time, non-management Food and Beverage & Culinary position at the Sheraton New Orleans Hotel, offering a wage of $7.25 per hour. While open availability is preferred, this role provides flexibility within a dynamic and supportive work environment where teamwork and guest satisfaction are paramount. The position involves a commitment to creating remarkable guest experiences beyond simply serving food and beverages. Employees in this role, referred to as Guest Service Experts, are empowered to take initiative in delivering a wide range of services designed to enhance each guest's stay.

The role requires individuals who are proactive in ensuring that every guest interaction contributes positively to their overall experience at the hotel. This includes setting tables, coordinating with kitchen staff, engaging with and serving guests, and maintaining clean and organized work and storage areas. These responsibilities are essential in transforming routine transactions into components of a seamless and memorable hospitality experience. Additionally, this position demands physical stamina, including standing, sitting, extensive walking, moving items up to 50 pounds without assistance, reaching high places, bending, twisting, and stretching to fulfill various tasks efficiently and safely.

Sheraton values a safe working environment and adherence to company standards, including maintaining quality, professionalism in appearance and communication, following company procedures, and upholding safety guidelines. The role is ideal for individuals who possess a high level of energy and enthusiasm, as well as a passion for delivering outstanding service. While experience in a similar role is not required, a high school diploma or equivalent, such as a General Educational Development (GED) certificate, is preferred. This role does not require supervisory experience or any specific licenses or certifications.

Joining the Sheraton team means becoming a part of Marriott International's commitment to equal opportunity employment and fostering a workplace that values diversity, inclusion, and accessibility for all employees. The company actively promotes a culture where associations' unique backgrounds and experiences are celebrated and where discrimination based on disability, veteran status, or other protected characteristics is strictly prohibited.

By becoming a Guest Service Expert at Sheraton New Orleans Hotel, you will find a place to thrive professionally, contribute to a significant mission to be "The Gathering Place of the World," and collaborate with a dedicated global team. This role is not just a job but a chance to start a fulfilling career in the hospitality industry, connecting guests through meaningful experiences while developing your own potential and becoming the best version of yourself.
