This particular opportunity is for a full-time Food and Beverage Service role located at JW Marriott Minneapolis Mall of America in Bloomington, Minnesota. The position is non-management and offers an hourly wage of $11.41, with eligibility for tips. The ideal candidate will work primarily day shifts and be responsible for delivering exceptional dining experiences to hotel guests. This role requires a positive attitude, strong communication skills, and a passion for providing excellent customer service. Employees in this role will greet guests warmly, serve food and beverages promptly, share detailed knowledge of the menu, and ensure every interaction enhances the guest’s dining experience.

As a Food and Beverage Server, you will be an integral part of the hotel’s hospitality team, ensuring tables are impeccably set and maintained, transactions are promptly logged using the MICROS system, and guests' needs are anticipated and met with a friendly demeanor. You will help create memorable dining moments through personalized service, product knowledge, and positive teamwork. This is an excellent role for candidates new to the hospitality industry as well as experienced servers, offering a supportive training environment including safety certifications required before employment.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least one year of relevant work experience preferred
  • Ability to move and lift up to 25 pounds
  • Ability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods
  • Professional appearance and clean uniform
  • Completion of safety training and certification prior to employment
  • Positive attitude

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least one year of related work experience preferred
  • Positive attitude and outgoing personality
  • Good conversational skills and team orientation
  • Previous serving experience considered a strong advantage

Job Duties

  • Welcome guests and attend to tables promptly
  • Serve food and beverages to guests and offer recommendations when needed
  • Share menu knowledge to assist guests with questions and special requests
  • Accurately and timely record transactions using the MICROS system
  • Approach guests to ensure satisfaction with each dish and beverage
  • Clean tables, complete closing tasks, and restock dishware and supplies
